About Us
Would you like to spend a relaxing and eventful holiday on a real farm? Then this is the place for you! We, Gerhard and Marlies, and our 5 children Kerstin, Hannes, Anna, Stefanie and Roman (aged 21, 19, 16, 14 and 14), run our farm full-time.
A paradise for young and old alike amid the adventure playground offered by nature. Our "little guests" will enjoy the freedom and have a great time on the playground, on the meadow and in the forest. There is plenty for the kids to do around the farmyard. We have something for everyone. Cuddling the rabbits and cats, feeding the calves, milking the cows, taking the goats to pasture, watching the ponies graze, then saddling them up and riding them. Watching a calf being born is a very special experience!
Further popular amenities are the 2 big trampolines, go-karts, pedal cars, bikes, children's tractors, sandpit, swings and the new pool (8m x 4m) with roof. Great fun is also to be had playing table tennis, table football, pool or football out on the field, sometimes even under the floodlights.
Baking bread, toasting bread on a stick by the campfire and the games evenings are also a lovely way to pass the time.
Enjoy a cosy gathering at the weekly barbecue evening or a traditional Carinthian snack with music and a Swedish bonfire.
Here at the Steinerhof, you can recharge your batteries, feel great and regain a sense of inner peace. Parents can sit back and relax in our beautiful, well-tended garden with great views, where the children will never get bored.
Find out how the farm wakes up in the morning! The tranquil stillness, the fresh country air, birds chirruping, cows mooing gently and being milked, the rooster crowing... and you can either get up or drift back to sleep. Perhaps your children are early risers and would like to help out in the stalls and feed the animals.
Start the day off with a generous, leisurely breakfast under the mighty pear tree in the garden !
Then simply lie back on your sun lounger to read or snooze. Alternatively, you might like to go out on a nice excursion, hike in the surrounding area or drive to one of the beautiful and clean lakes in Carinthia.
In the evening, watch the many shooting stars falling from an unbelievably starry sky and enjoy the peace and stillness.

About Us
Children will have fun tobogganing, bobsleighing, building snowmen or sack racing on the Steiner meadow.
There are also several lakes and squares in the surrounding area, which can be used for ice skating, and a toboggan run. Many people just enjoy the sunshine on a winter hike over the sunny side of the Glantal. Adults will also enjoy themselves with a spot of Bavarian curling.
Of course, you can also help out in the stables and with looking after the animals.
We warmly invite you to experience farming traditions at Christmas and New Year. We are more than happy to celebrate New Year with our guests by arrangement. The atmosphere will be merry over some mulled wine, tea, children's punch and home-made Christmas treats, sitting around the warm glow of the fire and the Swedish bonfire. Of course, the new year gets off to a cracking start with some fireworks!
There is always a lot of clowning around on Shrove Sunday in Sörg. On the farm, the children will have all sorts of fun during carnival time , dressing up in costumes rummaged from the treasure chest.
At Familienschneeland Simonhöhe (Simonhöhe Family Snow World), just 20 minutes from Steiner Farm, both experienced skiers and beginners will find excellently prepared slopes - the best conditions to enjoy a day's skiing. Skiing without long waiting times is fun, pure and simple!
Modern snow machines, excellent slope grooming machines and no fewer than 9 lifts guarantee snow on all descents and ensure well-maintained slopes and cross-country trails. The diverse landscapes of the Wimitzer mountains offer slopes for everyone, including beginners and pros.
The first Austrian children's ski school with guaranteed success will take care of the little ones. There is also a ski service and hire centre available for renting equipment: www.simonhoehe.at
There is a daily fresh bread roll service here at the Steinerhof.
We warmly invite you to try some of our home-made local Carinthian snacks. We offer the following delicacies:
fresh milk, tasty bread, farmhouse salami, bacon, tasty eggs, several varieties of schnapps, apple juice, various jams, honey, herbal teas, fruit juices, healing ointments...
A convivial barbecue night with schnapps tasting is held once a week.
There are also several down-to-earth guesthouses in the surrounding area where you can enjoy the regional specialities.
