Find lovely walks and spectacular tours around the “four sacred mountains” (Magdalensberg, Ulrichsberg, Veitsberg and Lorenziberg), the Gurktal valley, a paradise of herbs, the mysterious Görtschitztal valley, the Glantal valley, a sunshine paradise, or the wetlands “Hörfeld-Moor”. In a lot of cases, you can start your walk or hike directly from the farm house or mountain cabin.

Well-signposted themed cycle routes take you through the valleys Glantal, Gurktal, Metnitztal and Görtschitztal, past the town of Friesach and to St. Georgen on the shores of Lake Längsee. The cycle routes are ideal for family outings and nature lovers who are looking for an active break. All of the tours can be easily combined with public transport - for a sustainable trip. In summer, you should absolutely plan to cycle or hike past one of the small but delightful lakes and have a swim. The lakes Längsee, Hörzendorfersee, Urbansee, Goggausee or Kraigersee are perfectly refreshing with crystal-clear water that’s safe to drink.
In winter, the three small but lovely family-friendly ski resorts “Simonhöhe”, “Eberstein/Saualpe” and “Flattnitz” are the ideal destinations for collecting unforgettable memories in the snow. Sledging up the hill, walking in the winter wonderland, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing or ice skating on one of the frozen lakes - everything’s possible during a winter holiday here!
