About Us
Farm for babies and kids near Lake Mondsee
Our organic farm Hochserner is set in a secluded location at an altitude of 730 m. It’s surrounded by meadows and forests and boasts an unrivalled view of the two lakes Mondsee and Irrsee. Here, you’ll definitely find peace and relaxation!
Our highlights: A (floodlit) toboggan run and a (floodlit) curling field are our fun-filled winter highlights. Take a snowshoeing walk through the winter forest, build a snow castle or the largest snowman - if there’s enough snow, this is especially exciting.
We offer an outdoor hot tub. Relax in the 38 °C warm waters before you jump in the refreshing snow. A tingly sensation on your skin! You can borrow bathrobes. You can have a delicious snack on our panoramic terrace. Our young guests will find plenty of pastimes in our child-friendly house.

We harvest the fruit from our trees and shrubs and use it for all kinds of delicacies: elderflower syrup and unfiltered apple juice (no sugar added). The other apples and pears are pressed and fermented to cider. Plums and pears are mashed and distilled to schnapps in winter. We also make jam from different types of fruit. Jams can also be purchased and taken home as a souvenir.
Collecting eggs from the henhouse is a popular morning activity for our guests. Those who spot them first can take them to the kitchen where we prepare eggs for breakfast - from our happy hens.
We use lots of herbs that grow all around our house and on the meadows. Herbs in oil can also be used as an ointment. An old natural remedy that has been rediscovered. Herbs are also used in herb liqueur, pesto or spreads ... Interested? We can collect herbs together and prepare delicious tea.
Meat from our cattle is processed on site, sold and transformed into delicious meals for our guests (subject to availability).
Trouts in our pond can be caught once they are big enough. Fishermen and fisherwomen can bring them to our kitchen where we fry the trouts and serve them.
For our little guests, there are many animals to feed, caress and care.
In summer, the rabbits chickens share an enclosure, which is always accessible to the children. With a little patience, the chickens can be caressed while feeding and eat from the hand. A self-found breakfast egg is especially good.
Our sheep - only on the farm in summer - are also happy about a few leftover bread left over the previous day.
Our ponies Rosi and Calimero are very nice. They can be petted or fed when we're around. Unfortunately, riding is not possible!
The cats Tinkerbell and Filli are everyone's darling. They are purring loudly if they are being scratched long enough.
The cows with their calves and the bull "Maxi" are in the free-range barn in winter and on pasture in summer. The calves can drink at any time with the mother and also eat hay or grass. This is the most original and natural form of cattle farming available.
Furthermore, there are trout in the pond in summer, where you can fish. (Only when the fish are big enough.)
