About Us
Our rustic "Astenhütte", in the heart of Hohe Tauern National Park in Salzburger Land, is an old mountain hut once used by hill farmers, idyllically situated at 1200 m above sea level. In front of the hut, you will enjoy magical views of the valley and the surrounding alpine world.
This traditional hut does have electricity. The combination living room and kitchen, with its cozy sitting area and wood stove, radiates a typical hut atmosphere. The wood-fired range, which can be used for cooking, boiling water as well as heating the room, provides for pleasant warmth on colder days. The hut accommodates 3 people, with one regular bed and bunkbeds, plus a WC and shower with warm running water.
Due to its quiet location, this hut is an ideal way to forget the stresses of daily life and escape completely. Standing next to the Astenhütte are its own chapel and a well. You will find all kinds of opportunities to explore nature right outside the hut’s front door. Close by, you can even watch marmots and, with a little bit of luck, discover a few chanterelles for dinner.
We rent out our Astenhütte from May until November and look forward to receiving your booking inquiry!
