Do’s and don’ts in the cow shed

Wee calves smelling of milk, pink pigs, fluffy sheep, perky ponies, dogs, cats and rabbits: perhaps your farm-stay holiday is the first time you’ve been up close and personal with so many animals in all kinds of sizes. So obviously you’ll spend every free moment in the stables. The farming folks will gladly tell you all there is to know about your four-legged and feathered friends, for instance the safe way to approach an animal. They’ll help to translate the animals’ body language and will know why goats bleat and whether cows drink milk.
