Mare's milk is a health elixir. In China, it was already considered a miracle medicine 3,000 years ago. Homer wrote about horse milk in the Iliad. Alexander the Great had his warriors drink mare's milk to make them invincible. Today, science knows for sure: mare's milk contains antibacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredients. It strengthens the immune system and is considered a healing food, especially for skin diseases (neurodermatitis!).

It is drunk for stomach and intestinal disorders and to treat coughs, colds and hoarseness.

Farmer Michael: "If there was no mare's milk, it would have to be invented!" The Haflinger mares are milked several times a day on the Münzer farm. Farmer Monika: "In the wild, horses are flight animals. A full udder would be a hindrance. So the milk for the foal is produced on demand. And we can milk on demand."

What a peaceful picture: Monika, the mare and the foal! Monika: "You can only milk mares when the foal is next to them. The mare needs this intimate contact. Horses are very sensitive animals." You are also welcome to watch.

When you spend your Farm holidays with the Münzer family, the romantic Bischofhütten on the Klippitztörl await you far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life on a wide valley floor.

Three huts with plenty of space for large families (5 bedrooms), car-free zone, absolutely quiet, rustic (tiled stove) and yet modern (sauna). Just a few meters from the ski slope.
