Vacations on a Carinthian winter farm

What is there not to experience? A visit to the cows in the warm barn or the kittens hopping through the snow. A hike with snowshoes across fields of powder snow that feels like crossing a comforter. Ski touring requires some practice and fitness, but the deep snow descent off the groomed slopes makes up for the effort. The landlords will accompany you or give you tips for safe routes. At equestrian farms, horses are already waiting to take the children on winter rides through the snow or to pull the sledges through the winter forest with the sound of bells. Finely groomed forest trails invite you to go sledging and inns invite you to drink mulled wine.

Hut experience right on the piste

The "Guglhütte" is a particularly comfortable hut. It is ideally located for skiers right on the piste of the Klippitztörl family ski area and has an electric four-person sauna. The dishwasher does the washing up and you can cook either electrically or on the wood stove. "The roast pork is particularly good in this," says Elisabeth Fellner, the Gugl farmer. The hut can comfortably accommodate up to eight people.

Summit meeting

You don't want to miss out on the boards that mean the world to many? You don't have to. For example, there is a self-catering hut in the upper Lavanttal ("Bischofhütte") with a sauna and tiled stove for ten people in the middle of the ski area. The location of the Lackner family's "Fleißkuchl" in the middle of the top ski area Heiligenblut-Großglockner is also magnificent. The stunning view is followed by a crystal-clear insight: where skiing pleasure and coziness come together, pure joie de vivre is born.
