Highlights
About Us
The Waldalm is located at 1,730 m above sea level in a quiet location amidst the mountains of Saalbach-Hinterglemm in Salzburger Land. Nestled among mountains, meadows, and nature, you'll find the perfect place to switch off with a magnificent view. In spring, summer, and autumn, the alpine hut is easily accessible by car.
🔥 Simple, authentic, and cozy
The rustic alpine hut accommodates up to 10 people and is deliberately kept simple – without a TV and much technology. Inside, local wood provides warmth and coziness: doors made of Swiss pine, floors and windows made of larch. Heating and cooking are done in the eat-in kitchen on the wood stove, hot water comes via the gas boiler, and electricity is available exclusively via solar (for the essentials, e.g., light and charging). Mobile phone reception is available.
🌿 Around the house
In front of the Waldalm, you'll find sun loungers and garden furniture, a barbecue area with a gas grill, and plenty of space for playing and relaxing. For children, there is a play corner inside the house, and outdoors also a trampoline and table football – so boredom is guaranteed not to strike.
🥾 Summer in Saalbach-Hinterglemm & Surroundings
Around Saalbach-Hinterglemm, you can start hikes and mountain bike tours directly from the Waldalm – from leisurely alpine tours to challenging trails. A popular destination at the end of the valley in Hinterglemm is the Baumzipfelweg with the suspension bridge “Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps”. For families, the Motorikweg in Saalbach is great, and those who love action will find the Bikepark in Leogang as well as many mountain adventure offerings.
On warm days, an excursion to Lake Zell in Zell am See is worthwhile for swimming and strolling. Furthermore, in the region, you have many opportunities for via ferratas/climbing (depending on the route), mountain railways for panoramic excursions, and alpine hut visits around Saalbach and Hinterglemm.
We look forward to welcoming you,
your Rohrmoser-Höller family

Salzburger Saalachtal Region
Country walks, climbing tours or alpine hikes? Thanks to the varied terrain between the rugged mountains in the north and the undulating, grass-covered mountains in the south, everyone will find the perfect hike or country walk. Would you like to relax and unwind on the shores of Lake Ritzensee or feel a rush of adrenaline as you kayak along the river Saalach? Those who love skiing can get active in the “Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn”, network of ski resorts. For e-bikers, recreational cyclists, mountain bikers and downhill mountain bikers, the region leaves nothing to be desired. Plenty of local producers and farmers from the mountains and the valleys have culinary highlights in store for you. A widely known jazz festival and colourful festivities in autumn when it’s time to harvest on the farms - these are only some of the cultural highlights in the villages of Lofer, St. Martin bei Lofer, Unken, Weißbach bei Lofer, Saalfelden, Leogang, Viehhofen, Maishofen and Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
