About Us
Welcome to the Prannleithen Organic Farm of the Schroll and Wieser families!
Some well-known and many more unknown ancestors have managed this farm since 1632, lived from it, shaped it, and adapted it to the needs of the time and its inhabitants. So that guests can also experience this beautiful place and bring a little life to it, Herbert and Veronika built the 'Knusperhaus' (Gingerbread House) with great enthusiasm and motivation. Here, you and your loved ones can make yourselves comfortable on 100 m² in all seasons. Experience a special getaway in the Southern Waldviertel. Find time and leisure to breathe deeply, marvel, and enjoy. Our "Knusperhaus", in rustic country house style and designed with great attention to detail, is a special place for this. From the breakfast room, balcony, or sun terrace, there's a wonderful view of our pond and the 'Sea(h)r' of the Waldviertel - the many trees. The spacious bathroom is your wellness oasis with candlelight and a relaxation lounger. But there's also plenty to experience outdoors. The "Southern Waldviertel" hiking region offers atmospheric hiking trails: Druid Path, Heart Stone Path, and the Ysperklamm gorge, where the elements of wood, stone, and water are especially showcased. 3-D archers can hunt for fiberglass animals, and fishing and horseback riding are also possible in the area. For rainy or cool days, the climbing hall and the Yspertal indoor swimming pool with its 32-degree warm water, Roman warm chamber, steam chamber, water slide, and sauna are worth a trip.

About Us
Welcome to the organic farm Prannleithen of the Schroll and Wieser families!
Some well-known and many more unknown ancestors have managed this farm since 1632, lived from it, shaped it, and adapted it to the needs of the time and its inhabitants. So that guests can also experience this beautiful place and bring a little life to it, Herbert and Veronika built the "Knusperhaus" with great enthusiasm and motivation. Here, you and your loved ones can make yourselves comfortable on 100 m² throughout all seasons. Experience a special getaway in the Southern Waldviertel. Find time and leisure to breathe, to marvel, and to enjoy. Our "Knusperhaus," in rustic country house style and designed with great attention to detail, is a special place for this. From the breakfast room, the balcony, or the sun terrace, there is a beautiful view of our pond and the "Mee(h)r" (sea/more) of the Waldviertel - the many trees. The spacious bathroom is your wellness oasis with candlelight and a relaxation lounger. But there's also a lot to experience outdoors. The "Southern Waldviertel" hiking region offers atmospheric hiking trails: Druidenweg (Druid's Path), Herzsteinweg (Heartstone Path), and the Ysper gorge, where the elements of wood, stone, and water are particularly showcased. In winter, there are many trails for Nordic walking and snowshoeing, including enchanting landscapes. The Ysper gorge, also accessible in winter, "plays" with creative designs of water and ice, and 3D archers can also go hunting in winter. The climbing hall and the Yspertal indoor pool with its 32-degree warm water, Roman warm room, steam room, water slide, and sauna are wonderful destinations for cool or rainy weather.
Through the collaboration of people, animals, and plants, high-quality and flavorful products are created on the farm.
Organic Pear Balsamic Vinegar: With great passion and years of meticulous development, we have created our concentrated pear balsamic vinegar, bringing the old cider pear trees on the farm back into use. Varieties such as Speckbirne, Schweizer Wasserbirne, Gelbe Landlbirne, and Rote Pichlbirne, which have grown here for generations, give the vinegar its characteristic flavor. Each bottle contains the aroma of 1.5 kg of pears: The juice is reduced to one-third and double-fermented – first into must, then into vinegar – until a caramel-colored balsamic vinegar with intense sweetness and harmonious acidity is created.
Organic Elderflower Syrup: Our elder bushes at the edge of the forest provide the base for our syrup. For a particularly intense floral flavor, we use three times the amount of elderflowers. The extended collection process pays off, as an intense floral taste is retained even with significant dilution.
Honey: Since 2025, we have been looking after the "state affairs" of five bee colonies on the farm to be able to offer our own honey in the future and simultaneously pollinate our fruit trees.
Organic Apple Juice: Every year it's exciting to see how many blossoms form on the trees, whether it's warm enough so they don't freeze, and whether it's warm enough for a period during the blooming season for honeybees and wild bees to fly and pollinate the blossoms, and how the fruit develops with the weather in summer and autumn. The result of these small annual successes means that in autumn we can harvest the apples, press them, and bottle their juice, and the apple juice on our table, and perhaps yours too, enriches our lives with its taste.

Coming from the south on the B36 (Ybbs or Persenbeug) in the municipality of Yspertal, turn left 100m before the Spar supermarket (or if you missed it, 200m after the shop) towards Ysper. From the market square in Ysper (recognizable by the church), drive approximately 1.5 km towards St. Oswald on Oswalderstraße (if you are standing in front of the church, the road goes off to the left). After driving down from a steep hilltop, turn left at the bus stop and immediately right again into Leithenweg (a 'Urlaub am Bauernhof' sign is there), follow the road for almost 1 km, and when you see a pond on the bottom right, you have reached your destination!
Waldviertel Region
Authentic experiences await you in the Waldviertel region, the north-western part of Lower Austria. Tall pine trees, reservoirs with an abundance of cool water and ancient castles are characteristic features of the landscape in the north. Fields of poppy that are bursting with colour add to the beauty of the scenery. At the same time, they provide the basic ingredient for culinary delicacies that the region is famous for. “Waldviertler Mohnnudeln” (sweet gnocchi with poppy seeds) is one of the signature dishes here.
