At the "Waldbauer" (Forest Farmer) you'll find yourself on a beautiful, large meadow surrounded by extensive, secluded high forests – perfect for mushroom hunting and berry picking! Enjoy hikes to working alpine pastures, fishing, barbecuing, making music around a campfire, or simply gazing at the breathtakingly beautiful starry sky.

In winter, you forge your own path to the heights. Snowshoeing followed by warming up by the tiled stove. Enjoying the starry sky by candlelight with a glass of wine. Snuggling up and inhaling the wonderful aroma of baked apples from the wood-burning stove – a scent of childhood – of autumn and winter – of a perfect world.

Self-catering alpine hut "Waldbauer" - no electricity, simple, historic furnishings, the most charming outhouse with a view, well in front of the hut. Ground floor: fully equipped kitchen, cool pantry, cloakroom, bathroom with shower and sitz bath, living room. A wooden staircase leads to the first floor - 2 bedrooms (walk-through rooms). One room with 3 beds and one room with 4 beds. Covered terrace with extra-large dining table.

Tip: Bring warm slippers with sturdy soles and light the tiled stoves. Andreas will give you a demonstration of how to operate the stoves at check-in.

Dogs are very welcome! Please let us know in advance – an extra charge may apply.

Location: 1200m above sea level. On a 2-hectare meadow, situated on a stream, with a small fish pond, sunny all day in summer. Access: 7 km from Bad St. Leonhard via Lichtengraben, asphalt and gravel road, snow chains required in winter. Fish pond near the castle and the cabin. Fishing permits are free for our guests! Fish caught will be charged.
