In winter, ski areas such as Damüls-Mellau, Diedamskopf and Warth-Schröcken offer skiing and other winter activities. Culture adds another dimension, from the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg to the region’s distinctive timber architecture.

This farming tradition has been included in Austria’s national inventory of intangible cultural heritage since 2010.
