When Rosi Gruber says that her guests feel "like home" at the Klammerhof, you believe her every word. Once a farm, always a farm, is her motto and you can feel it from the very first minute: "We live with our guests the way we live". And this has been the case since 1960, when they started renting out their properties. Put into practice, this means as much as: Going to the barn together with guests at the crack of dawn, wishing the special "Herzlkuh" cow - which really does have a heart in its coat pattern - a good morning while milking and then heading out to the surrounding alpine meadows to cut hay. You can remember how you used to jump over the freshly cut hay as a child until the tractor brought the valuable fodder home to the barn with the loader wagon. That was wonderful, and it is still wonderful at the Klammerhof. This unbroken hospitality naturally also leads to very special experiences, as Rosi knows how to tell: "Some time ago, a cow gave birth in the meadow. The guests came running up all excited and shouted: Quick, quick, its feet are already sticking out." It's these heartfelt moments that stay in the memory, for guests and Rosi alike, and ensure that guests are always happy to return to the Klammerhof to give their children such unique experiences. Where nature is simply still nature.

At the foot of the world mountain Mirnock
The Klammerhof belongs to the Mirnockbauern, an association of ten farmers from the region who place particular value on regionality and the preservation of old traditions and the rural cultural landscape. The name comes from the Mirnock mountain of the same name, on the slopes of which the farms are located and where signposted places of power and fabulous views invite you to linger. The best way to explore this wonderful spot is on the Kneipp Panorama Trail, which is the longest Kneipp trail in Austria. It leads through dense forests across sunny meadows to the lovingly tended farms.
Enjoy far-reaching views from the starry balcony
A hike from the Klammerhof to the Sternenbalkon, a place to dream, is absolutely magical. It takes a good three quarters of an hour to cover the 300 meters in altitude. Once you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a picnic basket from Alpengasthof Bergfried full of regional specialties, which you can enjoy on the viewing balcony at sunset. Mirnockspeck, sausage and cheese specialties, fresh curd cheese spread, homemade bread as well as a bottle of Holler juice and a glass of sparkling wine promise hours of culinary delights. But there's something else hidden in the basket: "The so-called Mirnockaugen", says Rosi. This is a doughnut pastry, cut into small pieces, baked in fat and filled with cranberries. The name "Mirnockaugen" comes from the three small lakes that hikers pass on their way to the summit. You can enjoy the end of the day while the sun sends out its last golden rays over the lake before the first stars of a sparkling night are reflected in it. What was that saying again about "reaching for the stars"?
