Alpine cabin in a peaceful, dreamlike location with views of the glacier, the 'Hochalmspitze'

About Us

The art of enjoying life with all your senses.

Our Zirbenhütte is an old, lovingly renovated alpine hut situated in a sunny, quiet location in the heart of the Nockberge mountains, at 1,750m above sea level. As soon as you open the cabin door, you will notice the soothing scent of stone pine wood.

Stone pine wood is well known for its health-promoting effects and its ability to lower the heart rate. This makes it the ideal place for a relaxed, restorative alpine getaway.

Surrounded by blooming alpine meadows, you can enjoy a unique panoramic view of the mountains of the Ankogel Group, including its highest peak, the Hochalmspitze (3,360m), also known as the "Queen of the Tauern".

The Zirbenhütte is the ideal starting point for numerous hikes in the gentle Nockberge mountains, such as the Langenock, the Stileck, the Rabenkofel... and for those who are particularly fit, even up to the Plattennock or the Rosennock (2,440m). Your only companions along the way will be cattle, deer, and marmots.

Our Leisure Tips

The cultural and artists' town of Gmünd (Alte Burg restaurant, Porsche Museum, Pankratium, outdoor pool...)

Nockalm Road (a gentle alpine road featuring exhibitions on bats, a unique fossil exhibition...)

Kölnbrein Dam (Austria's highest dam wall with the spectacular AIRWALK viewing platform)

A day of swimming at Lake Millstätter See, Donkey Park Malta, via ferrata on the Falkert

Fallbach Water Adventure Park (Carinthia's highest free-falling waterfall, climbing garden, treehouse slide)

Canyoning in the Gössgraben or Malta Gorge

If you want to recharge your batteries in the heart of the mountains, then write to us – we look forward to your inquiry.
