At our Wolfsbachhütte, you can experience authentic alpine life firsthand! In July and August, you can help milk the cows twice a day, work in the stable, and watch the cheese-making process. Grandpa Hans provides exciting insights into the farming world and shares his knowledge of nature, animals, and tradition.

The Wolfsbachhütte is your retreat in the heart of nature – a genuine alpine hut in the beautiful Katschberg & Lieser-Maltatal region, where summer smells of freedom, hay, and fresh mountain air.
During the summer months of July and August, your vacation with us becomes a truly special experience: Together with Grandpa Hans, you will dive into real alpine life. Accompany him to the cows on the lush green pastures, learn how fresh hay milk is processed into award-winning cheese, and enjoy the rustic lifestyle on the pasture. Grandpa Hans also makes sure that the hut is comfortably heated and that the electricity works reliably. His stories about the mountains, nature, and farming life make your stay at the Wolfsbachhütte something very special.
The hut itself invites you to relax and linger: local wood, loving details, and a stone pine room whose scent ensures a particularly restful sleep. After a hike in the impressive mountains of the Katschberg & Lieser-Maltatal region, you can unwind and relax in the Finnish sauna.
From the beginning of September, the Wolfsbachhütte is yours entirely. In absolute seclusion, you can enjoy undisturbed peace, clear autumn days, and the view over the entire Lieser-Maltatal. The spacious area in front of the hut, a natural stone fireplace, and a barbecue grill create the perfect conditions for cozy evenings in the outdoors.
For stays of at least 5 nights, you can also look forward to a FREE "Brettljause" (cold meat and cheese platter) featuring homemade delicacies from our farm – a true culinary delight!

Your four-legged companions are of course very welcome to join you at the hut and discover nature together with you!
Location:
Our alpine hut is located in a sunny, wide valley basin on the Katschberg, surrounded by the impressive nature of the Lieser-Maltatal, in the neighborhood of three other alpine huts. The unobstructed view over the valley is breathtaking and unforgettable.

Only 5 km from Rennweg, accessible via a well-maintained gravel road.
