Between the Salzburg Lake District and gentle hills, we cultivate fresh vegetables in our 2,000 m² market garden, tend to orchards, flowers, berry gardens, and forests, and care for our animals with great diligence.

During your holiday, we serve you a lovingly prepared, rich breakfast. We place great emphasis on regional products and avoid plastic and packaging as much as possible. The products for breakfast are either homemade or sourced from local businesses.

OUR FARM - A HERITAGE WITH A VISION
Our organic farm Bio-Erlebnishof Wastlbauer combines regenerative agriculture, community, and practical farm life. The farm features animal husbandry, a 2,000 m² market garden, orchards, flowers, berries, and forest. We work with our hands, with mindfulness, and according to the principles of permaculture. This creates food that not only tastes good but also strengthens soil, nature, and people.
With our farm, we aim to create a sustainable habitat – not just for us, but also for many wild animal and plant species. Our fields, meadows, and pastures serve as a food source and provide breeding and retreat areas. Rich biodiversity is a crucial basis for maintaining natural processes that serve us humans – from the pollination of fruit blossoms by insects to the preservation of healthy, fertile soils.
REGIONAL SUPPLY
In our market garden, we grow fresh, high-quality vegetables, tend orchards and forests, and care for our animals with great diligence. You'll find our organically certified harvest on your breakfast table, in the farm shop, at the Mattsee weekly market, and in summer served in our cider tavern. With subscriptions for a share of our harvest, we supply regional customers with fresh organic vegetables according to the market garden principle – fair and at eye level.
HOLIDAY APARTMENTS & ROOMS
When constructing and furnishing our holiday apartments and rooms, we breathed new life into the charm of the old. Old wooden beam ceilings, wooden floors, and natural textiles create a cozy atmosphere.
LEARN WHERE THE FUTURE GROWS
Learning on the farm – connected with the world. As a partner in the international FarmSchool program of the Market Gardener Institute, we open our farm to people who want to rethink agriculture. Together with a worldwide network around Jean-Martin Fortier, we connect knowledge, experience, and practice. In workshops, courses, and training programs, we show how our daily life works – honestly, directly, and without a theoretical bubble. At the same time, we are part of a movement that is making agriculture regional, vibrant, and sustainable again.

The farm is located directly on the border of Salzburg/Upper Austria, approx. 20 km north of Salzburg, and is easily accessible by public transport or car. Directly in front of the farm on Mattseer Landesstraße, there is a bus stop ("Palting Guggenberg") with hourly direct connections via ÖBB Bus 120 to Salzburg city and Braunau.

Arrival by bus is possible (next bus stop: Palting Guggenberg, approx. 10 m away)
From the bus stop to us: on foot
Busses usually run once per hour on weekdays and once per hour on weekends and public holidays.
