Welcome to the Vorderkeuzsaalgut!

Our Vorderkreuzsaalgut is located about 2 km above Wagrain in the Salzburger Sportwelt in the province of Salzburg. As the last house in the village, we enjoy a particularly quiet location with very little traffic. All around you, meadows, mountains, and a beautiful view of the Wagrain mountains await. A wonderful place for families who love to spend their holiday surrounded by nature.

We, Petra and Josef Rettenwender, run the farm together with our three children Josef, Theresa, and Markus. We have been managing the farm since 2020 and have fully renovated our farmhouse with a lot of dedication.

🐄 Farm holidays, just as they should be

With us, farm life is simply part of your holiday. We raise calves and keep cattle. In summer, the larger cattle spend their time on the alpine pasture, while some calves stay with us at the farm. Chickens and cats are also part of our farm family.

If you like, you can join us for feeding the animals and get to know our daily routine on the farm. This gives even our smallest guests a real insight into life and work on a farm.

🌿 Plenty of space for little explorers

Around the farm, there is plenty of space to play, discover, and run around. A trampoline, slide, and sandbox provide plenty of variety. And because it is so quiet here, children can play outside while the grown-ups enjoy the view and the relaxed atmosphere.

🏡 Your holiday apartment on the farm

Our holiday apartment is located on the top floor of the farmhouse and was completely renovated during the refurbishment. With a separate living room and bedroom, it offers plenty of space and is particularly well-suited for families and couples traveling together.

☀️ Summer in Wagrain

In summer, you can start your hikes and family excursions directly in the Wagrain-Kleinarl region. Especially popular with families is Wagraini’s Grafenberg with its play and adventure stations on the mountain.

The other adventure mountains of the Salzburger Sportwelt also invite you to hike, play, and explore. The cable cars take you comfortably up to numerous starting points for your hikes. On warm days, the Wasserwelt Wagrain provides refreshing cooling. If you prefer to be on two wheels, you will find many opportunities for cycling and mountain biking in the region.

❄️ Winter holidays in the mountains

In winter, you are right in the middle of the Salzburger Sportwelt ski area in Wagrain. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, you can go cross-country skiing, tobogganing, snowshoeing, or set off on a ski tour in the region.

And sometimes you don't need a big programme: right around our farm, the children can go tobogganing, romp around in the snow, and build snowmen.

🚗 Good to know: For the access road to our farm, snow chains are required in winter.
