Chalet Ursteinhütte, Almhütte Kelchsau

The rustic, cosy and very comfortably equipped Ursteinhütte mountain chalet invites you to take a soothing break in the Kitzbühel mountains. Crystal-clear lakes, rushing torrents, primeval forests and lush alpine meadows await you. The chalet offers room for 8 people.

Our Ursteinhütte was renovated in 2016 in the noble Tyrolean alpine style. Amenities such as an environmentally friendly geothermal heating system, 2 bathrooms and 2 separate toilets were installed.

The heart of the cottage is the cosy living room with an open roof, a wood stove, a large set of seats and a 50 inch flat screen TV.

Via the open gallery you can reach 3 double and 1 twin room on the upper floor.

The well equipped kitchen is directly connected to the dining room via an open passage.

The real luxury, however, is right outside the front door. Enjoy the view of the impressive natural scenery, a few steps to the refreshing torrent or a sunbath on the nearby lake while having breakfast on the terrace. 

One of the most beautiful mountain tours in Tyrol is waiting for you right in front of the hut door. In about 1.5 hours you can reach the "Neue Bamberger Hütte", a mountain inn that is open all year round, above the tree line. If you are in good physical condition, you can go from there to several mountain lakes and countless peaks of the Kitzbühel Alps.

On the alp you will find waters for every taste. For the little ones there are brooks which they like to dam up or divert, for the big ones there are torrents or the river in the valley which can become quite roaring in a thunderstorm.

The Ursteinhütte is the chalet in the Tyrolean mountains away from the villages, directly in a living, unspoilt nature with all the comforts you could not wish for more beautiful.

Cows and calves graze on our alpine pasture from about mid May to the beginning of October.

Culinary delights are also available in the immediate vicinity. Take a short walk to the neighbouring Käse-Alm. The Niederkaser-Alm is farmed from the end of May to October, where you can enjoy board snacks, drinks, cheese sales and other regional products. In 2km distance at the end of the valley you will find the Alpen Gasthof Wegscheid with very good Tyrolean cuisine, the Sunday roast pork is a feast for the palate.
