The Tuxerhof is quietly located on a sunny high plateau in the Achensee region and in summer is an ideal starting point for an active holiday in the Tyrolean mountains.
Lake Achensee – also known as the „Tyrolean Sea“ – can be reached quickly and offers numerous opportunities for water sports such as swimming, sailing, stand-up paddling or windsurfing. Varied cycling and mountain bike trails as well as hiking paths with impressive panoramic views invite you to explore around the lake. Tours into the Karwendel and Rofan regions also offer ideal conditions for mountaineers and nature lovers.
At the farm itself, guests experience the quiet, authentic side of country life. The surroundings are characterized by nature, expansive views, and the rustic atmosphere of the Tuxerhof, which offers a special retreat after active days at the lake and in the mountains.
The large sun terrace invites you to relax – with sun from morning till night and an unobstructed view of the Tyrolean mountains.

About Us
The Tuxerhof holiday home is quietly located on a sunny high plateau above Achenkirch.
The area around Lake Achensee is known for its diversity: winter hiking trails, cross-country ski runs, and varied ski tours lead through the snowy landscape. The region's ski resorts are also easily accessible and offer perfectly groomed slopes with magnificent panoramic views.
A special experience at Tuxerhof is the daily farm life. Guests get insights into agriculture and can experience feeding the animals and working on the farm. Our mother cows, Noriker horses, and traditional animal breeds make the stay particularly authentic and close to nature.
After an active winter day, the in-house pine sauna provides soothing relaxation and cozy warmth. The traditional tiled stove creates a particularly homely atmosphere and invites you to end the evening in a relaxed manner.
Animals
At Tuxerhof, we live and work in harmony with nature and the seasons. Our farm is passionately dedicated to suckler cow husbandry and the preservation of traditional, endangered animal breeds. Our Tux-Zillertaler and Pustertaler Sprinzen are particularly close to our hearts – robust, strong-charactered cattle with a long history in the Alpine regions. By keeping them, we make an important contribution to preserving valuable genetic diversity and authentic Tyrolean agriculture.
From June until late summer, our animals spend the summer on the alpine pastures. There, they enjoy fresh mountain air, herb-rich meadows, and plenty of freedom of movement amidst the Tyrolean mountains. From the end of September until the end of May, the animals are back at the farm and on the pasture, where they are cared for with great attention.
In addition to our cattle, three Noriker horses are also part of Tuxerhof. These strong, good-natured horses are an integral part of our farm life and also spend the summer months on the alpine pastures. As a traditional Austrian horse breed, they perfectly suit our rural operation and the alpine cultural landscape.
Respectful interaction with animals and nature is our top priority. Sustainability, regionality, and a love for agriculture shape our daily lives. Guests and visitors at Tuxerhof gain an authentic insight into farm life and the importance of old livestock breeds for our cultural landscape.
