Our farm is nestled in the heart of the "Bauernland Irrsee.Mondsee.Attersee." Nature Park – a region renowned for its rolling hills, untouched meadows, and sustainable agriculture. Here, you will experience pure nature, farming traditions, and genuine hospitality.

Our mobile chicken coop – fresh eggs from happy hens
Our farm is home to a very special stable: the mobile chicken coop! Here, our chickens regularly move to fresh, lush meadows, have plenty of space to scratch and peck, and thank us with particularly delicious eggs. You can experience the chickens up close and maybe even collect your own breakfast egg straight from the nest!

For a relaxed breakfast just the way you like it! 🌿🥐

Every morning (except Sundays), the baker delivers fresh bread rolls directly to us. You can easily place your order in our online shop and pick it up from us in the morning. This is how you start the day with oven-fresh delicacies!

Our farm shop takes care of everything else – open 24/7 and available for self-service. Here you will find fresh eggs from our chickens, regional honey, homemade fruit spreads, syrup, and much more for your breakfast. Pasta and other delicacies for the whole day also await you.

If you want to treat yourself: in Zell am Moos (5 km) and Straßwalchen (7 km), there are cozy breakfast cafés with a delicious selection.

Whether you put your breakfast together yourself or enjoy it out – at Sunnhof, you start the day with enjoyment! 🥰☕

Since 2021, we have a mobile henhouse for our chicken.

The tractor can move the mobile henhouse to different spots on the meadow. This way, our hens can always feed on fresh grass. 20 roosters are part of the flock and make sure everything’s safe and all right.

The henhouse has everything a hen’s heart could possibly desire. They can lay the eggs in nests of soft spelt husk. Every day, we collect the eggs manually. This way, we can establish and maintain a good connection with our animals which is often not the case in egg farms.

Chicken do normally not move further than 50 metres from their barn. That means that the grass on the meadow around the barn would be eaten within a short time. And that’s where the mobile henhouse comes in. Since we move the henhouse to different places, we provide our chicken with fresh grass and the soil always has enough time to recover.

In total, our chicken have 15,000 m² for use. In winter (the henhouse is parked on gravel), they can range freely and scratch or go to the sand baths and hay racks inside the barn.

Another positive side effect of the mobile henhouse: No surface has to be sealed and grassland can be maintained. It was important for us to make the best out of the farm in an economic sense without enlarging it and to create something sustainable for the future. We also wanted to make sure that all activities along the value chain are performed in Austria.

Our eggs are produced in compliance with the regulations set by Agrarmarkt Austria (AMA), the Austrian Market Organisation - a seal of quality. They can be purchased in our farm shop “GlüXegg” - the brand name literally translates to “happy eggs”.

Coming by car from the A1, take the Mondsee exit and drive on the B154 for approx. 8km towards Oberhofen am Irrsee. At the village of Laiter, turn left and drive towards Fischhof; after approx. 800 m, turn right to Sunnhof.

Arrival by train: "Oberhofen / Zell am Moos" stop (Westbahn), (3 km away)
Arrival by bus: "Laiter" stop (1 km away)
The Postbus shuttle is offered in our region, which allows you to travel from the train station / bus stop right up to our house (stop "Sunnhof").
Trains and buses usually run approximately hourly.
For catering services, we offer breakfast directly at our establishment and have a farm shop (eggs, pasta, honey, syrup, fruit spreads, etc.).
Next catering options: Farm shop at our farm, Unimarkt (supermarket) in Oberhofen (approx. 2 km), three inns in Oberhofen (approx. 2-3 km away)
Guests can rent bicycles from us.

Guest Mobility Ticket included in your stay!

Our guests can use public transport throughout the entire province of Salzburg and in our Mondsee-Irrsee region up to Bad Ischl, St. Wolfgang and Unterach free of charge. This applies to both arrival and departure, as well as throughout your entire stay.

If required, we will be happy to send you the public transport ticket in advance by e-mail after you have completed the online guest registration.
