About Us
A road (accessible throughout the year) leads up to to the alpine hut, where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the upper Murtal surrounded by mountain pastures and forests.
The stone building, over 200 years old, was renovated very tastefully in 1998 but has preserved its original character.
Discover the dawn of spring on the mountain pastures on a round tour. Listen to the cries of the cuckoo in the forest, and discover the unique alpine flora. Our animals also move onto the mountain pasture at this time of year. In summer, the cows in the neighbouring stalls are milked - your help will be happily welcomed by the farmer. A milk break vitalises mind and body.
Gathering berries and mushrooms in our own forest will also enrich your meals. There are plenty of hiking opportunities, giving you the chance to see the many beautiful shades of autumn.
Spend a night in the fresh mountain hay. We are happy to offer our farm's own products when visiting our farm as well as a guided hike to the dairy farmer or up on a mountain at any time of year.

About Us
A road (accessible throughout the year) leads up to to the alpine hut, where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the upper Murtal surrounded by mountain pastures and forests.
The stone building, over 200 years old, was renovated very tastefully in 1998 but has preserved its original character. Our cabin is also particularly attractive in winter. Get into the snowy mountain landscape and go on a skiing tour, safe from avalanches, a walk in the snow or for a toboggan ride. Accompany the hunter on his rounds in the forest and you will discover a lot of interesting things.
A visit to our organic farm gives you an insight into farm life, and you can buy our own farm products, such as milk, bread, eggs and meat etc.
In the town there are ski lifts and cross-country ski runs as well as various events.
Trout, milk, eggs.

Since 1993, our farm has been managed organically and in line with ecological principles. Our animals spend as much time as possible on pasture – as long as vegetation allows – and even in winter, they have daily access to outdoor areas to enjoy fresh air and sunshine. Out of respect for our animals and a deep sense of responsibility, we mostly consume only the meat we raise ourselves or source from small, trustworthy organic farms in the region.
We've been producing our own electricity from hydropower since the 1950s. To make the most of the many hours of sunshine our farm enjoys and reduce our dependence on the public grid, we’ve also installed a small photovoltaic system with battery storage.
Sustainable forestry is equally important to us: we manage our woodland in a natural way, encouraging a diverse, site-adapted forest that is resilient to climate change. For a secure and clean water supply in our household, stables and alpine huts, we rely on our own natural springs – providing pure mountain water straight from the source.

The Spitalalm is located about 1 km above the Oberkamperhof in the Lobming Valley (Styria) and can be reached year-round via a paved road.
Arrival by car:
From the A9 Pyhrn motorway, take the Knittelfeld Ost exit and follow the signs towards Apfelberg and Lobmingtal, then continue to Kleinlobming (approx. 20 minutes driving time).
At the end of the village, drive through the Hintertal area. A signposted, paved road leads directly to the Oberkamperhof, Sonnberg II/61. This is your first stop – here you’ll receive the key for the Spitalalm.
Important in winter:
The road is cleared and generally easy to drive on. However, depending on the weather conditions, winter equipment(winter tyres) and snow chains are highly recommended during snowfall.
