Highlights
"Places for meditation": Our yurt "Herzheim" was created in 2014. Here, you can let go of stress and tension on a journey with the standing bell, led by Irmgard Habernig. Relax even more during a walk to the "Sörger waterfall". Listen to the sounds of the water and let your mind wander.
"Public herb garden": The herb association was founded in 2017 and together we built the public herb garden on our pasture. On guided tours in the herb garden, guests can learn a lot about herbs. We can also show you how the freshly picked herbs can be incorporated into the dishes.
"Home-made food products": Our farm is a dairy farm and we process a small part of our cow's milk ourselves. We make curd cheese, "Glundnerkäse", yoghurt and butter. We provide the ingredients for our beloved farmer's bread as well as Carinthian specialties that are sold in our country inn called "Sörgerwirt".
"Help in the barn": There is always a lot of work to do on the farm. Guests of all ages are welcome to help us. We milk our 25 dairy cows twice a day and look after the calves, pigs, chicken, horses, rabbits, cats and Jack, our farm dog. They look forward to being petted.
About Us
Our dairy farm is located in the centre of the Sörg / Liebenfels area. We run a total of around 50 cows, of which approx. 20 to 25 cows are milked twice each day, at 6:00 am and 5:00 pm. The cows are free to move around as they wish in our freestall barn.
Our younger guests, and their elders, are welcome to watch and even help with the milking. After this hard work our fresh, warm milk will taste even better.
The SÖRGERWIRT guesthouse lies in the middle of the village square in the market town of Liebenfels. The town is situated on the sunny side of the Sörgerberg Mountain, high above the Glan valley, and there are numerous convenient hiking paths and themed walks in the area.
The three generations of our extended family are all fully occupied in taking care of the guesthouse and our own farmland. During your stay, you are welcome to call in on us to enjoy a bite to eat, visit the pilgrimage church of Sörg (on the Four Mountains Run) or the Adventure Waterway, or enjoy the wonderful view, regional delicacies sourced from our natural landscape and the hearty cider produced in our own orchards.

About Us
Our younger guests can go bob-sledding on the snow-covered "Bichl", just 100 metres from the apartment, or build snowmen, snow castles and enjoy snowball fights in the village itself.
Right next to the guesthouse is the skating rink where our Alexander loves to play all year round. Bavarian curling offers great fun and entertainment for young and old alike.
The fantastic slopes provide ideal conditions for your skiing enjoyment, suitable for both skilled and less experienced skiers. The Simonhöhe ski region is just 20 minutes drive away from the Sörgerwirt. Ski hire is also available there.
For enthusiastic sledders, the Lorenziberg is just 15 minutes away. In good weather you can travel right down the mountain road on a bob-sled or toboggan.
Cuddling with the cows
Animal welfare is an important concern, and guests are welcome to enjoy some quality time with our cows. The milking cows are very quiet and enjoy being patted, which is a heart-warming experience for both human and animal.
Both our large and smaller animals will enjoy your visit.
We make butter, curd cheese and yoghurt from the milk produced on our property. We also serve preserved meats from our own pigs as well as cider, apple juice and fruit juices from our orchard and herb garden.
At your Sörgerwirt guesthouse, we will cook Carinthian home-style meals for you using produce from our own farm.
