Welcome to the Schuster Alm – your alpine retreat in the Hohe Tauern!
Discover the magic of the Carinthian Alps
At 1,750 meters above sea level, at the foot of the majestic Großglockner, the Schuster Alm awaits you – an idyllic refuge in the Gößnitztal valley, on the picturesque "Innere Ebn". Nestled in the impressive scenery of the Hohe Tauern, our cabin offers the ideal place to experience an unforgettable getaway in the mountains. A cabin was first built here in 1867. In 2015, the Schuster Alm was completely renovated.
Your cozy alpine cabin
The ground-floor Schuster Alm has been lovingly and authentically furnished with reclaimed wood details by the farmer himself. It accommodates up to 5 people in one double room and one triple room. Stone pine beds and wardrobes give the rooms a special flair. The eat-in kitchen, equipped with a wood stove and a gas stove, invites you to cook and enjoy meals together. Modern amenities such as a photovoltaic system, a gas refrigerator with a freezer compartment, a tankless water heater, and gas heating ensure maximum comfort.
Pure nature
The Schuster Alm offers you not only relaxation but also adventure. Hike via the three Langtalseen lakes to the Elberfelderhütte or enjoy a shorter tour to the Bricciussennerei and the Sattelalm. The Kaiser Franz-Josefs Höhe, the Salmhütte, and the Glorahütte can also be reached on day hikes. For a short excursion, the "Bäuerle Kasa" is just a 20-minute walk away.
Tradition and comfort in perfect harmony
The "alpine garden" surrounding the cabin is fenced in and offers cozy stone pine seating, a fire bowl for grilling campfire bread, and a wood grill. Listen to the sound of the bells of the cattle grazing nearby and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature.
Practical information
- Arrival: The Schuster Alm is accessible via a 5 km gravel alpine path from Heiligenblut with our shuttle service. We will bring you to the cabin and pick you up again. Arrival with your own car is not possible.
- Rental: The cabin is rented on a weekly basis; a shorter stay is not possible for logistical reasons.

Alpine Cabin

The cabin accommodates up to 5 people in two cozy rooms. The double room is equipped with solid stone pine beds that ensure a restful sleep and create a calming atmosphere. The second bedroom is a spacious triple room, ideal for families or small groups. Both rooms are lovingly furnished in a traditional style and feature spacious wooden wardrobes for your belongings.

The eat-in kitchen is the heart of the alpine cabin, equipped with a traditional wood stove and an additional gas stove. Here you can cook together and spend cozy hours.
