We love the combination of the old with the modern. In the 2022 completely new vacation apartment at Schmiedlarhof, solid wood provides the natural indoor climate. Centrally and yet quietly located in the village center on the sunny side of the valley, we invite you to stay and spend your vacation.
In the immediate vicinity you can board the ski bus in the morning to the nearby ski area Diedamskopf in Au-Schoppernau, the largest ski area of the Bregenzerwald Mellau-Damüls or the Arlberg area in Warth-Schröcken. The cross-country ski trail and the extensive winter hiking trails in the village invite you to stroll through the wintry landscape. Further up, head for the winter fun with snowshoes or a toboggan. Depending on the snow conditions, you can book a horse-drawn sleigh or carriage ride. A pure and unforgettable winter experience through the winter forest, around the village and along the Bregenzer Ach.

As master farmers in full employment, we manage our hay-milk farm in traditional three-stage farming. We live and work together as a nature-loving, down-to-earth family in the natural cycle of the seasons. And yes, with us every animal still has a name.
From the milk of our cows we produce the spicy mountain cheese or on the alpine pasture in summer the fresh alpine cheese.

Once in Vorarlberg (A), take the A14 (Rheintalautobahn) and exit at Dornbirn Nord. At the traffic circle take the second exit in the direction of Bregenzerwald (L200). The L200 leads you through the Achrain tunnel into the Bregenzerwald. You will drive through the communities of Alberschwende, Egg and Andelsbuch. Pass Reuthe, Bezau and Mellau in the Bregenzerwald. In the center of Au at Gasthaus Schiff (on the left) turn left uphill from the L200 and follow the road (Lugen, Lebernau) towards Rehmen. After about 700 meters you have reached the Schmiedlarhof (Rehmen 45) after the mountain dairy Au-Rehmen on the right side of the road.
