Welcome to the Schlöglgut in Mühlbach am Hochkönig!
Our Schlöglgut promises holidays accompanied by breathtaking views extending from the Schneeberg, to the Hochkönig massif, and all the way to the Dachstein 40 km away.

The farm enjoys a peaceful, stand-alone setting surrounded by lush, green mountain pastures in summer, and countryside blanketed deep in snow amid the extraordinarily pure mountain air of winter. Our farm draws its own spring water. In other words, this is the ideal setting for an totally relaxed holiday with a true family atmosphere.

In 2022, we renovated our house and created 2 new holiday apartments in the process. Both of these apartments are on the 1st floor, allowing you to enjoy the unique panorama from each balcony. Plenty of parking spaces as well as a storage room for bikes and skis (including a boot dryer) are also available to our guests.
In autumn and winter, you can begin your hike, mountain biking expedition or ski tour right outside the front door. Or experience an unforgettable day of skiing only 2 km away, in the Hochkönig ski area, with over 120 km of perfectly groomed pistes and 40 km of tracked cross-country ski trails. For all our guests who prefer to spend fun-filled days with us away from the pistes, we are able to offer leisurely rides on horse-drawn carriages, sledding on several hills, as well as winter hikes through the glistening winter countryside.

In summer, enjoy the glorious world of high alpine pastures flanking the Hochkönig, dotted with countless mountain huts. They are reachable via easy hiking paths or by using the summer lifts. For sportier mountaineers, we highly recommend an ascent to the summit of the Hochkönig, site of the Matrashaus at 2941 m above sea level, as well as the Königsjodler via ferrata (a fixed-cable climb).

But it isn’t only our guests who have it good here with us. Our animals do, too. We farm mother cows using organic farming methods. The cows spend their time, together with their calves, in an open-pen cowshed with a spacious outdoor area. In summer, the cowshed is empty, because our animals are off enjoying a “summer holiday” of their own grazing the nearby meadows. Fresh eggs for breakfast are brought to you courtesy of our hens and rooster “Bertl”. Meanwhile, our gentle, child-friendly dog Mia can’t wait to meet you.

Whenever time permits, we have fresh, homemade farmhouse bread every Friday, along with many other delectable treats throughout the year.
If you wish, we will deliver freshly baked breakfast rolls to your apartment door daily, for the perfect start to your next day of hiking or skiing.
