Welcome to Ferienhof Rösslar, your idyllic mountain retreat! Nestled amidst the breathtaking Bregenzerwald mountains, a region renowned for its certified hiking villages, our farm offers a serene and sunny haven, embraced by lush meadows and tranquil forests. In 2018/19, with immense passion and dedication, we lovingly built a new barn and transformed Jürgen's ancestral home into a truly cozy sanctuary for our guests. Our newly completed vacation apartments, finished in December 2025, provide generous space and authentic Alpine charm for families and travelers of all ages. About Us
Heavily snow-covered, the mountains and our meadows are transformed into a magnificent winter landscape. On the well-groomed cross-country ski trail that runs directly onto our property, you can cover many kilometers while cross-country skiing, skating, or winter hiking. The large ski areas in the Bregenzerwald – Damüls, Diedamskopf, and Warth-Schröcken – are easily accessible by car or ski bus and promise unadulterated fun on the slopes. And those who prefer a quieter pace can also enjoy winter right outside our front door by sledding, building snowmen, or relaxing on the warm stove bench.
Farm products and catering
Much of our work on the farm—and especially on the alpine pastures—revolves around dairy farming and the artisanal production of the typical Bregenzerwald alpine cheese. The milk required for this is a genuine natural product and the result of healthy animal husbandry, the rich supply of alpine meadows, and our own hay. As a guest, you can taste our fresh milk and delicious alpine cheese directly at the farm or watch us produce it on the alpine pasture. You can also purchase fresh eggs and various types of sausage, made exclusively from the meat of our own animals, at the farm.
Animals
Our numerous animals—cats, rabbits, goats, chickens, calves, and cows—are the heart of our farm and are kept and cared for with love and attention. They offer young and old alike the opportunity to observe country life and all its work up close, and all the animals always enjoy being petted.
Our barn has space for 16 dairy cows, young cattle, and calves. Our whole life is governed by the rhythm of three-stage agriculture, which means that the animals move to the Vorsäss (the pre-Alpine pasture) in May and to the Alpine pasture in mid-June, where they find countless grasses and herbs in the Alpine meadows and enjoy their freedom. After the alpine season, during which we live as a family on the alpine pasture and produce our delicious alpine cheese by hand, the animals return to the Vorsäss for another three weeks before coming home round and content at the end of September.
