Our alpine huts Raunighof, Duar, Krassnigalm, and Troadkasten are situated on a place of natural power: flower meadows surrounded by a diverse forest. In front of the house, you will find benches to relax and fire pits for barbecuing, all offering views of the magnificent mountains. You can hike along the natural Freibach stream, discover the history of the valley, experience forest bathing, and use our stone pine sauna by the mountain stream.
We have lovingly restored our alpine cabins Raunighof, Duar, Krassnigalm, and Troadkasten. They combine the charm of bygone days with modern comfort. The mighty walls, the larch wood roof, the carved gutter hooks, the tiled stove, and the traditional smokehouse kitchen make these chalets a truly special experience. The seminar room at Raunighof is ideal for workshops and celebrations.
Enjoy a wonderful holiday on one of our three alpine cabins: Raunighof, Duar, and Krassnigalm! The three stylishly renovated farmhouses await you on quiet, romantic forest meadows in the south of Carinthia. The flair of bygone centuries harmonises with modern comfort.
You can feel the old times in the thick walls, the wooden roof, and the gutters made of larch wood. In the cosy farmhouse parlour, there is a ceiling made of mighty wooden beams and a baking oven. The old harmonises with the modern: on the upper floor, there are large, bright rooms with views of nature. The furnishings are comfortable.
In the garden, there is a cosy seating area with a fireplace and barbecue facilities. On request, you can enjoy a sauna session in our romantic stone pine sauna by the mountain stream.
The farm is situated on a dreamlike flower meadow in the midst of the Karawanken, the southernmost mountain range in Carinthia. Surrounded by forest where you can go for walks or look for mushrooms. Hiking trails start right on your doorstep. A crystal-clear mountain lake with free lake access, ideal for swimming, boating, SUP paddling, and fishing, can be reached in just a few minutes on foot or by car.
The more than 500-year-old Raunighof offers space for families and groups of 4-12 people on a generous 300 m2 of living space. With its large, bright seminar room and technical equipment, the Raunighof is also excellently suited for seminars.
The Duar is an old farmhouse that has been newly renovated and expanded. There are two holiday apartments there (the “Alte Tenne” for 2-4 people and the “Große Wohnung" for 4-8 people), which you can rent individually or together.
The Krassnigalm (for 4-8 people) is a large, beautiful, lovingly renovated alpine cabin in a sunny dream location on a large meadow with views of the peak of the Hochobir.
The Troadkasten (for 2 people) near the Krassnigalm is our "Tiny House". The former granary was converted in 2023/24 into a cosy little house for couples and features a wide view of the meadow and mountains.

We have our alpine huts open through the winter. In case of snowfall, the access roads are cleared by snowplows. Our houses are heated by our guests using tiled stoves and wood central heating systems.
There are interesting routes for winter walks and snowshoe hikes in the immediate vicinity. Interesting ski tours (easy or demanding) lead to Hochobir, Kleinobir, Freiberg and the Koschuta. If there is enough snow, you can go tobogganing on the forest path. Beautiful cross-country ski trails can be found in Bodental and nearby Zell-Pfarre. If it is cold enough, ice skating is possible on the nearby ice rink and the Carinthian lakes. Numerous Carinthian ski resorts (Nassfeld, Dreiländereck, Turrach, Falkert, Petzen, Koralm, etc.) are reachable within day trips.
You are welcome to bring dogs (for a small surcharge).

The Krassnigalm (for 4-8 people) is a large, beautiful, lovingly renovated alpine hut in a sunny dream location on a large meadow with a view of the summit of Hochobir.
The Troadkasten (for 2 people) near the Krassnigalm is our "tiny house". The former granary was converted in 2023/24 into a cozy little house for couples and offers a wide view of the meadow and mountains.
The Raunighof, with its large meadow, sweeping mountain views, and ancient trees, is a place of power that is also ideal for workshops, training sessions, and seminars. It is a place to experience nature with all your senses, find peace, discover yourself, and/or work within a group.
The bright, approximately 75m² seminar room comfortably accommodates up to 30 people. There are chairs and tables for 15 people, which can be quickly moved aside for physical exercises. The parlor is ideal as a second room for group work and dining. Seminar equipment includes a flipchart, overhead projector, projector, and satellite TV. Catering can be organized upon request.
By the mountain stream stands a small sauna cottage with a romantic stone pine sauna. The brave can cool off after the sauna session in the crystal-clear Freibach stream or enjoy a Kneipp bath between the round stones in the fresh stream water. Afterwards, you can relax on the lounging area with the gentle murmur of the Freibach in the background.

The more than 500-year-old Raunighof offers space for families and groups of 4-14 people on a generous 300 m2 of living space. There are 5 bedrooms: two rustic farmhouse rooms and three modern, bright rooms where the large skylights offer a magnificent view of nature and the night sky. The house is equipped with 3 showers, a bath, and 4 toilets.
The centerpiece is the large, bright lounge with larch wood flooring and windows that let the magnificent landscape inside.
The large farmhouse parlor with a wooden beamed ceiling and tiled stove serves as a dining, living, and playroom.
Next to the rustic kitchen is an old smokehouse with an oven.
With its large, bright seminar room and technical equipment, the Raunighof is also excellently suited for seminars.

Our "Tiny House", which isn't actually that small, but rather a beautiful, cozy, and comfortable apartment for two!
Our Troadkasten near the Krassnigalm is an over 200-year-old stone granary, which we renovated in 2023. It features exciting details such as the spiral interior staircase made of larch wood, hand-forged nails, and the "bottle museum" consisting of whimsical finds discovered under the foundation during renovations.
On the ground floor, there is a kitchen-cum-living-room with hot water, a refrigerator, a ceramic hob, an oven, a toaster, a filter coffee maker, a dining table with upholstered chairs, as well as a shower and toilet. Via a spiral interior staircase made of larch wood (a small house, but with two staircases!), you reach the upper floor, where a bedroom with a double bed, a table for two, and a balcony with a beautiful view of the wide meadow, the Freibachtal valley, and the imposing local mountain Hochobir await you.
In front of the house under the canopy, there is a cozy seating area for breakfast in the sun with a great view, where you can enjoy the peace and the sound of birds singing. Perfect for a cozy and intimate vacation for two!

The Krassnigalm (for 4-8 people) is a spacious, beautiful, renovated alpine cabin. It is dreamily situated on a flower meadow with a wide view of the summit of the Hochobir. The house has a wooden roof and rustic wooden gutters. In the garden, there is a cosy seating area made of larch wood with barbecue facilities.
In the rustic parlour with a wooden ceiling, there is a large dining table, a comfortable sofa, and a lovely cherry-wood stove bench next to the tiled stove. The shower and toilet have been wonderfully integrated into the old smokehouse kitchen. The fully equipped kitchen has an electric stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, wood stove, and a table. From the hallway, a larch-wood staircase leads to the upper floor with a reading and play corner.
On the lower floor is the Freibergzimmer (double bed), on the upper floor the Obirzimmer with balcony and fantastic views (double bed). The Schwarzgupfzimmer offers a double bed and two single beds.
A washing machine is available in the house!

The apartment “Alte Tenne” has its own entrance via a large wooden terrace. It has a charm all of its own thanks to the exposed wooden beams.
The apartment is suitable for 2-4 people. It consists of a large eat-in kitchen that opens up to the large larch-wood terrace, a double bedroom, hallway, shower, and toilet. In the eat-in kitchen, there is a “bird's nest” accessible via a ladder (a sleeping space for 2 people). Alternatively, a pull-out sofa is also available.
There is a charcoal barbecue in the garden.

Our Almhütte Duar is an old farmhouse that was newly renovated and extended in 2008. There are two holiday apartments there, which you can rent individually or together.
The "Large Apartment" is located in the older part of the house, built from massive stone walls. The apartment is 100 m2 in size and suitable for up to 9 people.
There is a cosy parlour with a tiled stove and a wooden Carinthian ceiling, an eat-in kitchen, a hallway, a rustic little vaulted room (one bed), a twin room, a double room and, under the roof, a large, bright 4-bed room, bathroom, toilet, and shower/toilet.
In front of the house is a wooden fountain. On the garden side of the house, there is a cosy spot to sit and eat as well as a fire pit where you can barbecue..
