Cabin Magic on the Saualpe – Nature Enjoyment at 1,645 Meters
The freshly renovated Polzhütte is located in the middle of the family-friendly hiking area on the Saualpe. In absolute seclusion, you can enjoy the silence of the mountains, the fresh alpine air, and the untouched nature here – far away from the hustle and bustle.
The spacious sun terrace with multiple seating options invites you to linger and offers a breathtaking view over the Lavanttal all the way to the Koralpe.
Around the fenced-in cabin, our cows graze on lush alpine meadows – an authentic nature experience that makes the charm of country life tangibly close.
A small, babbling brook flows directly past the cabin, creating a soothing, almost meditative atmosphere.
Put on your hiking boots and off you go! Directly from the cabin, you can set off on unforgettable hikes – also ideal for little explorers. Cozy alpine huts offering homemade delicacies can be reached in about a 30-minute walk.
And as the day slowly comes to an end, the fireplace with barbecue facilities ensures a romantic, atmospheric finale under the starry sky – an experience you won't forget anytime soon.

Polz Hut

The Polzhütte is a cozy self-catering cabin with around 100 m² of living space, offering room for up to 9 people. On the ground floor, there is an inviting vestibule, a bathroom with a shower, a separate toilet, and a fully equipped eat-in kitchen. This features a dishwasher, an electric stove with a ceramic hob, a filter coffee machine, a toaster, a fridge-freezer, and a traditional wood-burning stove – perfect for anyone who wants to experience true cabin charm while cooking.
On the upper floor, there are three bedrooms arranged as follows: one room with a double bed and a single bed, another room with a double bed, and a third room with a double bed and two single beds.
The cabin is heated sustainably with wood. In the bathroom, a water heater stove provides hot water and cozy warmth. Electricity is also supplied by the cabin's own photovoltaic system. Wi-Fi and a TV are available, so you don't have to sacrifice comfort even in the seclusion of the mountains.
Right in front of the cabin, there is a well with fresh drinking water. The Polzhütte is accessible by car via a gravel road.
