About Us
Pirkerhof – where the sky is just a little wider
You don't have to travel far to escape the world.
You just have to go high up – to 1,070 meters above sea level –,
to where the landscape opens up and the view sweeps from the Mittagskogel over the Karawanken all the way to the Gerlitzen.
The Pirkerhof lies on a sunny southern slope beneath the Wöllaner Nock, surrounded by fragrant alpine herb meadows,
where time moves a little slower and the heart beats a little more freely.
🌿 A garden for all the senses
A feel-good garden all around the house:
– 👧👦 Children can run wild on the swing, slide, sandbox, and pedal tractor
– 🌞 Adults can relax in the hammock or walk barefoot through the grass
– 🍒 Together, you can enjoy a snack in the berry and fruit garden – with redcurrants, raspberries, apples, plums, cherries, pears, and nuts
🔭 In the distance: Hunter Josef, who tells in a quiet voice where deer, stags, or chamois are likely to show themselves today.
🐅 Through the year with the cows
– In winter, the suckler cows move into the stable – warm breathing, rustling straw.
– In summer, they graze on lush alpine meadows all around.
🥾 If you like, hike or cycle up there – a greeting from cow to human, and then on you go across the Nockberge mountains.
🛏️ Living with charm – eye-to-eye with the peaks
Two modern double rooms and two lovingly newly built, top-equipped holiday apartments invite you to feel at home – each bedroom features its own bathroom and a magnificent panoramic view of the Gegendtal valley. The creaking wood still tells stories, and the scent of larch fills the rooms with warmth and life.
Heating is sustainable and honest – using wood from our own forest, which the farm generously provides.

Just a few minutes' drive away:
Lake Afritz, Lake Brenn, Lake Ossiach, Lake Faak, Lake Vassach – a sparkling ribbon on summer days.

Animals
Cows, Cats & Cuddly Bunnies – a warm welcome from our farm animals
🐄 Living on our farm are our 8 affectionate mother cows of the gentle Murbodner breed – Scheckale, Luise, Lonley, Dorly, Sibille, Schweitza, Viona, and Emaila.
🦌 You will also be greeted by Ludwig the fallow deer stag and the charming sika deer couple Hans-Peter & Gerti.
🐱 Our fluffy kittens Lorenz and Ferdinand, colorful chickens, and the sweet bunnies Frederik, Diamanti, and Frau Löffel with her baby bunnies bring plenty of animal joy.
🐖 From autumn, our piglets look forward to welcoming curious visitors.
⏰ Stable times are daily at 9:00 am and around 8:00 pm – flexible and lively, just like our farm.

Our spacious Gerlitzen holiday apartment on the second floor of the farmhouse offers plenty of space for 1-6 people across 66 m². The expansive apartment features two spacious double rooms, each equipped with its own shower and WC.
