About Us
Our organic hay-milk farm is located on the beautiful Thalgauberg at 700 m above sea level at the end of the small hamlet of “Holzing” in a wonderful secluded location with an unobstructed view of our meadows and forests as well as the surrounding mountains such as the Schober, the famous Drachenwand, and the Schafberg. Despite the quiet location in the midst of nature, it is only 4 km to the town center of Thalgau with its great outdoor pool with a pool and natural basin, and also only a few kilometers to Lake Fuschl or Lake Mondsee. Both the city of Salzburg and the Salzkammergut with its cultural and tourist attractions are easily accessible by car or by bus (P&R at the bus stop approx. 3 km from the farm). The surrounding lakes and mountains invite you to enjoy sporting activities such as swimming, hiking, cycling, etc.
The 40m² holiday apartment is located in the farmhouse newly built in 2012 and has a bedroom with a double bed (possibly 1 bunk bed for 1 child available), including bed linen, a daylight bathroom with toilet and shower, including towels, a kitchen-living room with a fully equipped kitchenette (dishwasher), dining table, couch and TV, Wi-Fi, terrace with table, chairs, sun loungers and parasol. The pool can be used upon consultation, and the garden is also available as a sunbathing lawn.
The heart of our organic hay-milk farm is our 28 dairy cows and the female offspring. The daily stable work (feeding, mucking out, milking, caring for the calves) can be experienced by guests or learned on request. Our horses and cats look forward to attention in the form of strokes or help with feeding. Depending on the season, guests are welcome to snack on the fruit in the garden. Upon request (for a fee), a wild herb walk can be booked with the farmer and trained herb educator.
In both summer and winter, our surroundings are perfect for beautiful walks in nature, e.g. to the Kneipp pool at the foot of the Thalgau Mountain or to the romantic Kolomann Church at the top of the Thalgauberg or Kolomann Mountain.

Organic hay milk from our cows in the free-stall barn with 365 days of outdoor access (fresh air in the outdoor run in winter, on the pasture from spring to late autumn), jams and juices (apple juice, cordials) made from the fruit varieties in our berry and fruit orchard, partially homemade yogurt or curd cheese made from our own milk, and eggs from our chickens.
- 4 cats – 3 of which are very people-oriented and love to be petted. Occasionally a few more when the neighbors' cats visit.
- 1 Shetland pony „Stella“, chocolate brown and 15 years old, who can also be taken for walks, very cuddly and always up for some mischief.
- „Ruby“ our Quarter Horse grandma mare, chestnut with a star on her forehead, 24 years old, still ridden by our daughter, suitable for animal-assisted activities without riding
- 1 boarder Icelandic pony „Mira“
