Welcome to Bio Bauernhof Oberbenk!

When children start asking where the butter comes from the cow, then only one thing helps:

A holiday with us at Bio Bauernhof Oberbenk.

Our organic farm Oberbenk is situated in a quiet, sunny location, just 2 km from the center of Wagrain – right in the heart of the Salzburg region, surrounded by green meadows and an impressive mountain backdrop.

On the farm, you'll experience authentic country life up close. Here, you can help in the stable, participate in milking the cows, or care for the calves. Around 20 calves are born with us every year – a special experience for young and old! Our cows answer to names like Madam, Gundi, and Gräfin. Making butter is also a true highlight that answers many questions for the children.

A paradise awaits our younger guests: a playground invites them to let off steam, and our petting animals – rabbits, cats, and guinea pigs – are always happy for a loving stroke. Our ponies, as well as two Noriker horses, are waiting for walks and care.

Beyond the animal experience, we offer cozy holiday apartments with magnificent views – whether from the balcony of the "Wagrain Blick" apartment or from the "Gründeck" high up in the farmhouse.

☀️ Summer Activities in the Area

In summer, Wagrain is a true paradise for nature lovers. Directly from the farm, you can embark on wonderful hikes – for instance, to the Edelweißalm or the Kleinarler Hütte. Cyclists will also get their money's worth: the Stoneman Taurista passes very close by. A highlight for families is the Wasserwelt Wagrain, which you, as our guest, have daily free entry to. Wagraini's Grafenberg Adventure World is also a true adventure for children.

❄️ Winter Activities in the Area

In winter, skiing fun awaits almost on your doorstep: Just 2.2 km from the farm lies the Snow Space Salzburg ski area – part of Ski amadé. Whether skiing, snowboarding, or sledding – there's something for everyone here. Off the slopes, snowy winter hiking trails and ski touring routes invite exploration. A fun snowball fight or a cozy sleigh ride makes a winter holiday perfect – directly from Bio Bauernhof Oberbenk.

Appreciation for home-produced foods

We are organic farmers with a passion, which is reflected in our products.

We harvest various fruits, including wild blackberries, blueberries and cherries, on our own land and transform them into delicious jams, jellies and juices.

One of our most valuable products is milk. In summer, we turn the raw milk into butter and various cheeses. Fresh farmhouse bread is essential to go with that delicious butter, of course.

For “health purposes”, we will also be able to offer you a shot of good schnapps, which you are welcome to sample as we spend a convivial evening together.

Since we do live in harmony with the animals and nature, we are not always able to produce all products year-round.

In harmony with animal and nature

We operate an organic dairy farm and breed our own cows. That is to say, we bring roughly 20 calves into this world every year. A small miracle in every case. You are welcome to lend a hand milking the cows and taking care of the calves. A memorable experience for big and small!

Our two farm dogs and family pets go by the names Daisy and Franzl. Daisy has been with us for many years, which means she keeps a close eye on all of us. Franzl is still very young and playful. Though they both have one thing in common: They love driving cattle.

Naturally, we also have animals to pet. Our rabbits, cats and guinea pigs can never get enough pampering.

Two Noriker horses and two ponies also have a role to play here depending on the time of year. Both of our incredibly sweet pony mares love to be stroked and groomed. And so that they never get bored, you are welcome to them on a walk or give them a loving pampering. Our two horses are called Lady and Fany. They are so similar in appearance, it’s hard to tell them apart.
