Exceptional living

About Us

The Landhaus Almleben is located directly at the entrance to Hüttschlag on the sunny side of the valley. Our guests can thus enjoy the sun even in the evening with a cozy drink in the garden.
Above the house, there are 20 free-range chickens, including a rooster. So, you might be woken up by our rooster in the morning, but you can also order breakfast eggs.

Our farm is located in Großarl, where you are welcome to visit us. We operate the Gerstreithof with the Gerstreitalm. On the farm, we sell our own beef, young beef, and lamb. Feel free to hike to our alpine pasture, where we process all the milk from our cows into cheese and butter.

The holiday home has been completely newly renovated, with some heirloom pieces reincorporated. The tiled stove in the living room has been preserved, as have a few cabinets that are over a hundred years old and now shine in new splendor. The facade with its carvings has also been carefully renovated.

In the garden, you can grill over the fire pit and enjoy the tranquility in Hüttschlag.

A special extra on-site is our barrel sauna: It offers space for 4–6 people and is available for your use at any time. Whether in summer or winter – you can use it around the clock to warm up and relax after an eventful day.

In summer, the Valley of Alms offers countless opportunities for mountain and alpine pasture hikes. You can hike along the ridge and enjoy the fantastic views. Or you can simply enjoy the tranquility in the garden of the country house.

In winter, the Großarltal is excellent for skiing, cross-country skiing, and ski touring. The cross-country ski trail passes directly by Landhaus Almleben, the distance to the ski bus is approx. 100 m, and some ski tours can be started directly from the house.

We look forward to your visit!

Farm Products

Josef Laireiter is a trained butcher and we have a slaughterhouse directly on our farm. Our animals are slaughtered there: cattle (2 years old), young cattle (8-12 months old), lambs (approx. 6 months old) without transport in their familiar surroundings. We are happy to let you know our offers for prices and mixed packages. We also dispatch our meat products during the winter months.

We also produce our own sausages (Wiener/Frankfurter), Käsekrainer, liver dumplings, Käsekrainer... Don't hesitate to ask!

We process all our milk into cheese and butter on the alpine pasture. Please let us know what you would like and we will be happy to supply you while stocks last.

Animals

The chickens that graze next to the holiday home were bred by our son himself. You are welcome to get your breakfast eggs directly from us!

Großarltal Valley

The Großarltal valley is known as the “valley of alpine pastures” for a good reason. In Großarl and Hüttschlag, more than 40 cosy mountain cabins are scattered across the alpine pastures. Take in the scent of wild flowers, enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view in the Hohe Tauern National Park and stop by one of the mountain cabins after hiking. Indulge in culinary delights such as home-made butter, cheese and freshly baked bread from the wood-fired oven. And in winter? Snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ski touring, tobogganing or skiing are only a few of the outdoor activities. What else do you need for a great winter holiday? Leave your worries behind and enjoy carefree days with the whole family!
