The Kühleitalm – Your Retreat in Salzburger Land

At 910 meters above sea level, nestled among meadows and forests at the foot of the Zwölferhorn, lies our Kühleitalm in Faistenau, in the beautiful Salzburger Land. Here you can enjoy absolute peace, fresh mountain air, and sweeping views all the way to Lake Wolfgang.

Built in 2011, the rustic alpine hut offers space for up to 10 people – ideal for families, friends, or couples looking for a retreat in the mountains.

The hut offers 140 m² of living space, featuring:

• 2 spacious bedrooms, each with 2 double beds and 1 single bed

• a cozy living area

• plenty of room to relax and enjoy the views

• a seating area under a shady tree – perfect for warm summer days

Around the hut, you’ll find a generous outdoor area with a terrace, barbecue spot, and fountain. It’s the perfect place for long summer evenings, fun with the kids, or simply to unwind. Thanks to its secluded location, you can enjoy complete tranquility – far from noise, traffic, or everyday stress.

Our mother cows with their calves graze around the hut, creating the typical alpine atmosphere and making your stay at the Kühleitalm especially authentic.

Activities in the Area

The Salzkammergut is famous for its stunning landscapes and crystal-clear lakes. From our Kühleitalm, you can reach the region’s most beautiful spots in just a few minutes by car:

• Lake Fuschl – 12 minutes
  Perfect for swimming and relaxing. Numerous bathing areas invite you to take a refreshing dip.

• Lake Wolfgang – 17 minutes
  Ideal for water sports, boat trips, and leisurely strolls along the lakeside promenade.

• Lake Mondsee – 22 minutes
  Known for its warm water, sailing, and surfing. Many lakeside inns invite you to stop and enjoy.

This makes it easy to combine your stay in the mountains with refreshing days at the lake.

Right from the hut, a variety of hiking and biking trails lead you through the Fuschlsee region. Traditional alpine huts nearby invite you to sample regional specialties. The surrounding lakes also offer plenty of opportunities for swimming, paddling, and sunbathing.
