During a morning by the open beehive, you can experience firsthand in our show apiary how the bees bring nectar into the hive and learn how delicious honey is made from it. Afterwards, fresh honey is extracted and tasted. You will taste our honey varieties—forest, alpine rose, and dandelion honey—as well as other bee products such as bee pollen, propolis, and much more.

Our experiential apiary and the 10 feel-good apartments are located on the edge of the forest in the small village of Mitschig in the Gailtal, in Upper Carinthia. Surrounded by meadows, forests, and a few single-family homes, our property is very quiet and has little traffic. Our family apartments are each dedicated to a flower as well as a type of wood. They have been furnished with the highest quality natural materials and are fully equipped: high-quality beds, a feel-good couch, and top kitchen equipment. Some units feature infrared warming cabins or Finnish saunas.
The garden invites you to linger. Each apartment has its own shaded outdoor seating area. A play tower, table tennis, balls, and open areas to run around the farm are very welcoming for children.
In the midst of natural wildflower meadows, you will find several observation beehives. This is where the 2-hour guided tours of the experiential apiary begin, which are offered twice a week by manager Arno Kronhofer. A comprehensive introduction to the world of bees and beekeepers, as well as a tasting of the various types of honey and bee products, awaits our guests. Children are welcome to lend a hand and help with honey spinning. Our organic apiary manages over 200 bee colonies.

A feeling of freedom between mountain and lake
Families and couples in the NLW region can look forward to a balanced mix of mountain and lake moments, both in summer and winter. The turquoise-blue Weissensee and Carinthia's warmest swimming lake, the Presseggersee, are just a few kilometers away. In summer, you can swim and take boat trips here, while in winter, ice skaters glide across the lake.
Numerous hiking and mountain tours, as well as cycling and biking routes of all difficulty levels, are available. In winter, Nassfeld transforms into the largest ski resort in Carinthia. Modern ski lifts and snowmaking facilities ensure guaranteed fun on the slopes.

The Kronhofer Adventure Apiary and Apartments are located right in the heart of the NLW tourism region. Carinthia's largest ski resort, Nassfeld, is 8 km away and offers 110 km of snow-sure slope fun. The ski bus is happy to pick up our guests.
For lovers of Nordic skiing, a challenging cross-country trail is groomed on the Nassfeld Pass. When snow conditions are good, there is a very beautiful trail on the floor of the Gail Valley. Ice skaters love the nearby Lake Weissensee (20 km): mirror-smooth ice can normally be expected from the beginning of January. Several groomed toboggan runs also promise huge fun for the little ones.
