Take a break

Take a break

If you want to treat yourself to a break from everyday life, then you’ve found the right place at our organic farm Biohof Kreilgut – where the soul breathes easy. We are looking forward to welcoming YOU! With a fine sense, a lot of old knowledge, and a touch of magic, our herbal witch Simone collects wild-growing herbs around the organic farm Biohof Kreilgut. Fragrant flowers, spicy leaves, and healing roots – everything comes from mindful wild collection.

Exceptional living

Extraordinary accommodation

We have restored our centuries-old grain store, traditionally called “Troadkasten” with a great deal of love and an eye for detail. The name comes from the original use of the wooden cabin: It used to serve as a grain store at a time when our ancestors still grew grain ("Troad") in this alpine region. To stay true to tradition, we mainly used natural materials (wood and stone) to protect this piece of heritage from decay.

About Us

Welcome to our organic farm Biohof Kreilgut! Nice to have you here.

Our farm is more than a place – it’s a way of life.

Here you can take a deep breath, switch off, and simply be yourself. Surrounded by mountains, animals, and pristine nature , we invite you to slow down and rediscover what is essential: tranquility, clean air, genuine encounters – and happiness in the little things

We have restored our centuries-old grain store, traditionally called “Troadkasten” with a great deal of love and an eye for detail. The name comes from the original use of the wooden cabin: It used to serve as a grain store at a time when our ancestors still grew grain ("Troad") in this alpine region. To stay true to tradition, we mainly used natural materials to protect this piece of heritage from decay: stone and solid wood, partly from our own forest. The scent of Austrian stone pine is said to have a particularly positive effect on sleep quality by lowering the heart rate and deepening the breath.

Here, you can still perceive the night sky with its countless sparkling stars in all its facets. Take some time off!

In summer, enjoy your morning coffee at sunrise on the sunny terrace - a perfect start of a great day outdoors (maybe hiking) featuring a breathtaking view! Or should it rather be a lazy day?

🌿 Forest bathing – Immerse yourself in the healing power of the forest

Slow down. Take a deep breath. Feel.

Forest bathing – immerse yourself in the silence and the power of the forest with all your senses. Feel soft moss beneath your feet, watch the beautiful interplay of light between the leaves, take in the scent of wood and earth – every minute in nature has the effect of a short break for body and soul.

You’ll find our organic farm Biohof Kreilgut in a central location in the holiday region Pyhrn-Priel. In summer and autumn, it’s the ideal starting point for hikes or mountain tours (Lake Gleinkersee, Lake Brunnsteinersee, the staffed alpine huts Dümlerhütte and Zellerhütte, the mountain peak of Warscheneck, Lake Schafferteich,…). For our guests in summer, the guest card “Pyhrn-Priel AktivCard” (offering free entry to attractions in the region and free rides on cable cars) is included in the stay.

Look forward to authentic experiences between barn and starry sky , a walk through the herb meadows or simply doing nothing – we wish you an unforgettable break in our lovingly designed chalet “Troadkasten” and many moments to pause.

Feel at home – with an additional bit of freedom.

Warm regards

Simone, Stefan and Max with Hedi and Karl from Biohof Kreilgut

Farm Products

🥃 Farm products made with heart – schnapps from grandpa, our master distiller

At our organic farm Biohof Kreilgut, you’ll find not only nature to touch, but also delights to take away. A very special highlight: schnapps from our grandpa – real craftsmanship from the master distiller.

With a lot of experience, love for detail, and old family recipes, he distills high-proof specialties from fine fruits – honest, clear, and strong in taste.

🍐 Pear, damson, or “Kriecherl” (a native type of plum) – every sip tells a piece of farm history.

You are welcome to taste on site or take a bottle home as a souvenir.
A true piece of Kreilgut – with character, just like the distiller himself.

🌿 Simone, the herbal witch – treasures from nature

With a fine sense, a lot of old knowledge, and a touch of magic, our herbal witch Simone collects wild-growing herbs around the organic farm Biohof Kreilgut.

Fragrant flowers, spicy leaves, and healing roots – everything comes from mindful wild collection, far from roads and pesticides.

From the wild treasures she collects, she makes:
🌼 teas,
🧂 herb salt and flower-infused sugar,
🧴 herbal essences
– pure, handmade, and processed with a lot of love.

Natural. Wild. With a touch of magic.

🥛 Hay milk for your breakfast at sunrise – mountain panorama included

You are welcome to get fresh hay milk from our cows for your coffee, hot chocolate, or cereals – natural, full of flavour, and rich in valuable nutrients.

Our cows are fed exclusively on grass, herbs, and fragrant hay – no silage feed. This makes the milk particularly easy to digest and ensures a fine, authentic taste.

Whether it’s a hot chocolate, a glass of pure milk, or with cereals: This is what morning tastes like for us – authentic, locally sourced, and with a lot of love for nature. 🐄🌿

Animals

🐄 Our animals – cared for with love & to experience up close

Our organic farm Biohof Kreilgut is home to a lot of animals – and they appreciate loving attention and helping hands!

🐄 Dairy cows & their calves – Every day, we provide our cows with fresh feed, peace and quiet. Anyone who likes can help feed them with grass and hay, watch the robot-assisted milking process, or simply pet the sweet calves – a real experience for young and old!

🐱 Cats – Our furry friends roam curiously around the farm and enjoy a few strokes in between.

🐰 Rabbits & guinea pigs – In our small petting zoo, fluffy friends are waiting to be fed and petted.

🐓 Chickens & ducks – They are clucking and quacking happily all day long around the farm. Help with feeding is gladly welcomed.

🦚 Peacocks – Our most exotic residents: proud, colourful and sometimes loud. A special sight!

🐐 Mini goats – Our small goats enjoy going for a walk with you. A leash, a bit of patience – and off we go on a goat walk!

❤️ For our little guests:

You’re explicitly allowed to lend us a hand and help! Anyone who wants to go out to the farm in the morning can feed animals, fetch hay, or just watch how real life on the farm is like.
