On chilly evenings or after an eventful day in the mountains, the rustic tiled stove invites you to a cozy get-together, providing pleasant warmth and creating an incomparably homely atmosphere that invites you to dream and relax.
Listen to the soothing bubbling of the water, breathe in the fresh, clear mountain air and let your soul find complete peace amidst this picturesque scenery. For deep, restful sleep, our handmade stone pine bed ensures a natural fragrance known to lower the heart rate and increase well-being.
The hiking paradise starts right outside your cabin door. Whether you prefer challenging peak storms to majestic destinations such as the Stubeck, Fauschaunereck, Reitereck or the Poisnig, which reward you with spectacular panoramas over the Carinthian mountain world, or enjoyable alpine hikes to the idyllic alpine pastures such as the Perschitz Alm, the Frido-Kordon-Hütte and the rustic Wölflbauerhütte – everyone will find their perfect adventure here. The serviced Leonhardhütte is also easily accessible on foot and invites you to stop by.
Even off the hiking trails, the region offers a wealth of experiences that are easily accessible by car. Thrill to the animal inhabitants in the charming donkey park in Malta, let yourself be fascinated by the imposing Kölnbreinsperre, an impressive architectural masterpiece in the middle of an alpine landscape, or immerse yourself in the glorious history of legendary sports cars at the Porsche Museum in Gmünd. Please note that in winter, our cabin is available exclusively for stays over Christmas and New Year's Eve, to enable you to have a particularly magical celebration in the mountains.

One of the bedrooms pampers you with a lovingly handcrafted stone pine bed, whose unique, soothing scent from the natural stone pine wood ensures a particularly deep and restful sleep. The cottage is ideal for families or small groups and accommodates up to 5 people in total, spread across two comfortable double beds and a single bed. Arrival
Getting to the Königsreiner Hütte is remarkably easy and takes you through a picturesque landscape. Follow the A10 Tauern motorway to the Gmünd/Kärnten exit and then follow the signs towards Malta. From Malta, the road winds picturesquely up the Maltaberg, and after about 7 kilometers, our idyllic cabin awaits you. Turn east at the junction (towards Zipfhütte) and follow the road to the signposted entrance. The final, charming stretch of the path to us is unpaved, but can be easily navigated even without a four-wheel-drive vehicle. Should winter snow conditions make direct access impossible, we recommend sturdy and sure-footed footwear. In this case, please plan for a short, approximately 10- to 15-minute walk from the parking lot to the cabin, during which we will be happy to assist you.

The Katschberg & Lieser-Maltatal region with the artists' town of Gmünd is located between 1,100 and 2,220 meters above sea level, int he south of the main Alpine ridge and directly on the border with SalzburgerLand.
