In our former stable, three spacious and comfortable holiday apartments have been created, designed with a lot of love and handcraft, where you can fully relax and feel at ease. The recreation room also invites you to unwind. In the guest garden, you can watch farm life go by or simply enjoy nature.
Every morning and evening, you can experience calf feeding up close, witness the milk production, enjoy fresh milk, or simply watch the animals from the balcony. 🏡 Holidays at the Klinglerbauer in Strobl on Lake Wolfgangsee
Our farm is located in the countryside & sunny on the outskirts of Strobl - in the beautiful Salzkammergut. Strobl is known for its idyllic location, the proximity to the Postalm and the easy accessibility of St. Wolfgang and Bad Ischl. The public bathing area, the boat landing stage (only a 10-minute walk away) and the bus stop for excursions are within easy reach. 🚎⛵
🐄 Animals and nature - in the middle of it all
Our animals live in a species-appropriate environment: the cows and calves enjoy their modern loose housing. In summer, our young cattle are on the mountain pasture - right at the foot of the Postalm. Our cats roam around the house, checking that everything is in order 🐱. And Mira, our dog, watches over the house and farm 🐶. Children can help with feeding, work in the barn or just watch the animals.
✨ Holiday apartments in our former stable - renovated with love
We - Elli & Franz Eisl - run the Klinglerbauer together with our 4 adult children Martin, Katharina, Michaela and Anna. Our old stable was still in use 2 years ago. With a lot of hard work and our own efforts, we have created 3 beautiful vacation apartments - bright, friendly and with lots of wood and attention to detail. Each apartment offers space for 2 - 4 people, has its own entrance and is furnished with a fully equipped kitchen, living area and bathroom with shower and WC. The apartments all have a French balcony. The garden is for our guests only - here you can relax, play or simply enjoy the peace and quiet 🌿. You can conveniently park your car in the carport - it stays cool in summer and snow-free in winter. Our farm is equipped with a photovoltaic system and an e-charging station is available. Sustainability is important to us - we live with nature and think about tomorrow.
☀️ Summer activities around Strobl
In summer, you can set off on a hike or bike ride directly from the farm. Lake Wolfgangsee is perfect for swimming, boating or stand-up paddling. The Postalm offers easy hiking trails and wonderful alpine air. For excursions to Bad Ischl or Salzburg, simply take the bus or, if possible, the boat - ideal for families without a car. A real insider ti:p: a ride on the Schafbergbahn cable car or a circular hike on the Zwölferhorn 🚴♀️🛶.
❄️ Wintertime at the farm - small, fine & familiar
When it snows, it gets particularly cozy with us. A small toboggan hill awaits children directly behind the house - we are happy to provide toboggans. The Postalm is ideal for families: wide pistes and many winter hiking trails. If you want a little more, take the ski bus to the Dachstein-West ski area 🎿. Cross-country ski trails can be found behind the house - and the Wolfgangsee Advent brings lights, atmosphere and special moments.

❄️ Winter time at the farm – small, cozy & family-friendly
Right behind the house, a small sledding hill awaits children – we are happy to provide sleds. The Postalm is ideal for families: wide slopes and many winter hiking trails. If you want a bit more, take the ski bus to the Dachstein-West ski area 🎿. Cross-country ski trails can even be found right behind the house - for the Wolfgangsee Advent, you can walk directly along the nativity scene figures and enjoy the special atmosphere – the Advent boat is running!

Enjoy fresh, natural milk daily, straight from our cows. From the sun-drenched fruits of our own fruit trees, we distill exquisite, homemade schnapps, which you can discover in our charming “mei Kastl”. Here you will also find lovingly crafted souvenirs and unique creative one-of-a-kind pieces – perfect as a special memory or a small gift.
🐄 Our Animals – The Heart and Soul of the Farm
Since 2022, our animals have been living in a highly modern, species-appropriate loose housing barn, which we built ourselves with a lot of passion. Here, our cows and calves enjoy not only the best comfort but also the greatest possible freedom.
A special highlight is our Lely milking robot, which allows our dairy cows 'free cow traffic'. This means: they decide for themselves when they want to be milked, when they want to eat or drink, pamper themselves at the scratching brush, or enjoy the fresh air in the outdoor run – whether in the sun or in the snow. On beautiful days, lush green grass awaits them on the pasture, where our cows can graze with relish. From May to October, our young cattle spend their 'summer retreat' on the picturesque alpine pasture at the foot of the Postalm – a true nature experience!
Our breeding bull is responsible for natural breeding. The newborn calves are a special eye-catcher and look forward to daily cuddles and their twice-daily milk meal. Raising them requires a lot of dedication and often offers our guests heartwarming moments.
And of course, our animal roommates should not be missed: Our curious cats 🐱 always keep a watchful eye on the farm events, while our friendly dog Mira 🐶 guards the house and yard with her calm manner.
For us, sustainability is not just a word, but a philosophy we live by. We do everything we can to keep our ecological footprint as small as possible while offering our guests the highest level of comfort.
We generate our own electricity from the power of our modern photovoltaic system and a practical e-charging station is available if required. Leave your car safely in our protective carport and explore the beauty of the Salzburger Land in a completely relaxed way by public transport – thanks to the "Guest Mobility Ticket", you can even travel for free throughout Salzburg (including Bad Ischl and St. Wolfgang) during your stay.
The coziy comfort of our newly designed holiday apartments is ensured by state-of-the-art insulation and efficient underfloor heating. The warmth for this comes from our own wood chip heating system, which uses wood exclusively from our own forest – a regional, renewable energy cycle. In addition, we use a solar thermal system to generate our hot water in an environmentally friendly way with solar energy.
With great attention to detail and craftsmanship, Franz transforms seemingly useless parts of the old roof truss or discarded wooden windows into charming, useful, or decorative unique pieces. In this way, old things take on a new meaning and blend harmoniously into our sustainable concept.
Some of our meadows are managed under strict nature conservation guidelines and are mown only once in late summer to preserve biodiversity and create a natural oasis for plants and animals. The cultivation of our fields is also energy-saving, as we rely on the production of silage in the bunker silo, which minimizes energy and plastic consumption.
As an active dairy farm with our own breeding, our powerful breeding bull plays a central role. This natural approach helps to reduce veterinary costs and avoid unnecessary waste by promoting a healthy and robust livestock for a sustainable cycle.
Of course, we place great value on simple and effective waste separation, which we have made as uncomplicated as possible for our guests, so that everyone can make their contribution to environmental protection.

Directions to Klinglerbauer – Your way to us **From the direction of Salzburg and St. Gilgen:**
Follow the B158 towards St. Gilgen and Strobl. Take the second exit on the right, which is signposted towards "Strobl Ost". Then turn left, follow the signs for St. Wolfgang, and go under the underpass. Right after that, take the second turn on the left, which leads you back to Strobl. Right after the town sign of Strobl, our entrance is on the right-hand side.
**From the direction of Bad Ischl:**
Follow the B158 towards Salzburg. Take the first exit on the right, which is signposted towards "Strobl Ost". Turn left, following the signs for St. Wolfgang, and then immediately keep left again to head towards Strobl. Right after the town sign of Strobl, you will see our entrance on the right-hand side.
