Our Brunner Hütte was built in 1932 and was recently lovingly renovated. Here, traditional architecture meets authentic alpine comfort.

Let your soul unwind... Life on the alpine pasture slows down the pace and brings contentment. In the midst of the mountain world, you can truly relax. You will find seating and lounging options right by the cabin. On hikes and mountain tours, you can get away from the stresses of daily life. During leisurely walks, you will find inner peace.

About Us

The Brunner-Hütte is a newly renovated and lovingly furnished alpine hut on the „Preisdorfer Wiesen“ (1,670 m above sea level) with a magnificent view over the lower Möll and Drau valleys.

Whether for relaxing on the terraces (east- and west-facing), strolls on the plateau around the hut or short hikes, our Brunner-Hütte offers the ideal location.

Our hut is also ideal for resting after a demanding mountain tour up the Kampleck or even the Reißeck. Cool your feet in the clear spring water and enjoy the sunset with a wonderful view.

Farm products and catering

Farm Products - Die Brunnerin

Small but exquisite – that is how you could casually describe Susanne's farm cheese dairy. Of the roughly 500 liters of organic milk milked daily, only a fraction goes into the farm's own processing; the rest is sold to the "Kärntnermilch" dairy.

Everything that Susanne produces as the "Brunnerin" with her own hands is meant to maintain the highest quality and excellence; mass production would go against this credo. Good traditional handcraft is a trademark with a guarantee of quality for Susanne as a cheesemaker.

And so Susanne heats, stirs, and pasteurizes the milk into selected delicacies such as cream cheese, curd cheese, yogurt, camembert, mozzarella, and soft cheese with herbs and garlic preserved in oil.

In addition, you can obtain honey from the local apiary and farm butter from a friendly local farmer.

Please speak to us personally if you are interested in our farm products. The Brunnerin will be happy to show you all the delicacies in her kitchen and tell you interesting facts about how they are made.

Animals

Our heifers spend the summer on the alpine pasture and return to the valley well-rested in autumn, shortly before the first snowfall during the traditional cattle drive.

The cabin is easily accessible by private car. From Kolbnitz, you can reach our cabin in 14 km (6 km of which is a gravel road).

You can collect the keys (for the barrier and the cabin) from us at Brunnerhof in Kolbnitz, Preisdorf 6.
