Welcome to Hof im Feld, your enchanting 4-flower holiday farm, nestled amidst the magnificent Montafon mountains at 680 meters above sea level in Schruns-Tschagguns, a certified hiking village. We passionately uphold traditional farming practices, producing high-quality, natural foods that nourish both body and soul. Each day, savor the freshness of our hay milk, golden bee honey, and farm-fresh eggs. Children are invited to immerse themselves in authentic farm life, joining us for stable work and connecting with our friendly farm animals.
During the vibrant summer months, while some of our cherished dairy cows and calves graze on the high pastures of Alpe Valisera, the heart of the farm continues to beat with life. Our family, including our children and 'Ahna' (our beloved grandmother), ensures a warm welcome and genuine farm experience. You'll also often find Laika, our playful farm dog, enjoying the valley life.
The Montafon region beckons with diverse adventures, whether you crave hiking, climbing, or mountain biking. As our guest, you enjoy free access to the fantastic BergePLUS program, offering daily guided activities tailored for adults, families, and children. In winter, the cross-country ski trail winds right past our doorstep, and the Zamangbahn cable car for skiing, snowboarding, and tobogganing is just a short 10 to 15-minute walk away. Ice skating and curling are also readily available, making Hof im Feld a perfect year-round retreat.

Hof im Feld is in the best location for all winter sports enthusiasts. The Zamangbahn cable car in Silvretta Montafon is just a 10 to 15-minute walk away for skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing . The Golm, Gargellen and Kristberg ski areas are just a few minutes away by car or bus. The cross-country ski trail leads right past the house. Ice skating and curling is possible in all weathers. No snow chains are required to get here and you'll love the covered car park.
And on a guided BergePLUS tour organised by Montafon Tourismus, you can explore the picturesque Montafon winter landscape away from the piste. Whether you explore the unspoilt natural scenery on foot, take your first steps on touring skis or trudge on snowshoes at the foot of the mighty three thousand metre peaks of the Silvretta - you will experience the Montafon winter from its most beautiful side in expert company. On top of that, there are of course a few insider tips.

Natural farming
Haymilk farming is the most traditional form of milk production. It is not without reason that hay milk is described as the most original milk, as no other milk is produced so close to nature. For centuries, dairy cows have been fed according to the seasons, as is the case here on our farm in Schruns: in summer, we bring the cows to the Alpe Valisera for a summer holiday. The meadows in the valley are mown, the grass is dried and the resulting hay is stored in barns for the cold season.

Montafon Sura Kees is a regional speciality that has shaped the valley over the centuries. The people of Montafon have been making this cheese since the 12th century. This means that the Montafon has one of the oldest cheese-making traditions in the Alpine region. The Montafon "Sura Kees" has been established as a regional speciality on the local market for several years. You are welcome to try it.
Our farm is home to a small but fine herd of dairy cows of the Brown Swiss breed with their young cattle and calves. Freddy is the master of the house - the big, red tomcat has a very special character. Of course, our farm also has a dog: Laika, the playful, child-friendly dog. The bees and chickens complete our farm.

When lovingly renovating the 100m² flat on the 2nd floor with balcony , we placed great emphasis on natural materials. The three bedrooms ensure the best relaxation. There are two bathrooms and a second, separate WC . In the cosy, well-equipped eat-in kitchen including dishwasher and freezer compartment, cooking is fun even on holiday.
We are happy to provide you with bed and table linen as well as shower and hand towels.
A changing table, high chair and cot are available for families with small children.

By car
Once you arrive in Vorarlberg (A), take the A14/E60 Rheintal- und Walgauautobahn motorway in the direction of Bludenz. Leave the motorway at exit 61 Bludenz/Montafon. Keep right and follow the B188 in the direction of Montafon. In Schruns, stay on the B188 and after the Aktivpark (on the right) and the football pitch (on the left), take the 2nd side road on the left into Alter Wuhrweg. After 160 metres, you will reach the Hof im Feld(Alter Wuhrweg 3) at the end of the road.
Alternatively, in summer you can take the Silvretta-Hochalpenstraße from the east (from Tyrol) via the Paznaun Valley to reach Schruns.
By train/bus
via Innsbruck or Bregenz/Feldkirch to Bludenz. There you change to the Montafon railway and travel to the terminus in Schruns. We will be happy to pick you up there.
By aeroplane
From the nearest airports St. Gallen (Altenrhein), Zurich, Memmingen, Friedrichshafen and Munich you can reach us by train or the airport shuttle services.
