Highlights
About Us
Our Hirterhütte, newly built in 2000, is located at 1,470 m in the middle of the beautiful Trattbergalm area – surrounded by green alpine meadows and grazing cattle and horses. The quiet location, the clear mountain air, and the sweeping views of the Salzburg Alps, the Tennengebirge mountains, the Dachstein, and the Bischofsmütze make this place a very special retreat for nature lovers. The city of Mozart, Salzburg, and many excursion destinations such as the Eisriesenwelt ice caves, the salt mine, and Königsee are all within 40 minutes' reach. This means that there is always something to do, even in bad weather, unless you just want to spend the day playing games.
The 100 m² self-catering cabin can accommodate up to 8 people, with 2 double rooms and a dormitory for 4 people. A vacation in the Alps, pure peace and nature, yet with a touch of luxury. The cozy living room with a kitchen just like at home and a wood-burning stove for cozy warmth is the perfect place to relax, take a break, or simply unwind.
👉 Easily accessible by car – bookable only during the alpine summer from May to October. Bed linen and towels available on request, wood provided. A managed hut where you can stop for refreshments is only 1 km away.
There is plenty to discover around the Hirterhütte:
🌄 Trattberg Panoramic Road – 9 km long, a real experience by car – information at www.trattberg.at
🥾 Hiking tours at over 1,700 m above sea level start right at the hut – with magnificent views
🧀 Three rustic alpine huts invite you to stop for a bite to eat: Christl-Alm, Moosangerl-Alm, and Wimmerhütte. If you want more culinary delights, you can indulge yourself at the Enzianhütte with its large playground.
🌲 Bluntautal near Golling and the nearby Seewaldsee – crystal-clear lakes, fantastic mountain scenery, and wildly romantic trails
🌊 Gollinger waterfall and the Lammerklamm gorge – impressive natural spectacles that are well worth a visit.
🚴♂️ Mountain bike trails directly from the hut, nearby via ferrata C/D
🐂 Over 500 cattle and horses spend their alpine summer here
Pack your backpack, leave everyday life behind – and enjoy the alpine summer at the Hirterhütte. We look forward to seeing you!
Over 500 cattle, horses, and goats graze on the alpine pasture. Photo opportunities included.
