Welcome to Haus Hintersteg, a house for independent holidaymakers in St. Johann im Pongau!
HausHintersteg stands in the heart of St. Johann im Pongau, an approximately 400-year-old historic farmhouse that was lovingly renovated in 2008.
The house is central: the town center, train station and ski bus are all just a few minutes away – yet surrounded by beautiful green countryside.
With 180 m² of living space, there is ample room for up to 10 people, making this house ideal for family friends and small groups.
Look forward to a total of 5 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with wood stove as well as a large, comfy parlor with television. In front of the house is a big fruit orchard, available for your exclusive relaxation and enjoyment. You may also wish to spend pleasant hours together out on the terrace with grill equipment. This house provides ample storage for your ski equipment in winter.
Close to the house are numerous excursion and hiking destinations, such as Lichtenstein Gorge, “Ghost Mountain”, the swimming lake in St. Johann, Jägersee, Tappenkarsee etc. Thanks to the nearby Tauern Bike Path, our house is also very convenient for cyclists. We are likewise an ideal base for motorcycle tours.
The nearest ski area is Snow Space Flachau/Wagrain/St. Johann, barely a 5-minute drive from where you will be staying. Here you will discover 45 ultra-modern ski lifts as well as the spectacular G-Link gondola.

House Hintersteg offers approximately 180 m² of living space accommodating up to 10 self-catering holidaymakers.
The house is very big with large rooms, making it perfect for up to 10 people.
Located on the ground floor is a fully equipped living room/kitchen (electric range, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster, full set of dishes, pots & pans etc.), seating as well as a wood stove for cozy warmth. The spacious parlor provides comfy seating and satellite TV. Also on the ground floor: separate ski storage, shower, WC and the double bedroom.
On the top floor, you will find 2 spacious double rooms, a triple room, a quad room as well as a bath/WC.
This house is electrically heated.
In front of the house is a large fruit orchard for your exclusive enjoyment. This garden features a pleasant terrace, grill equipment as well as plenty of space to stretch out and sunbathe – making this an ideal gathering spot for families or friends.
