Summer in the Alps – your break at the Hintereggalm

Sometimes it doesn't take much – just a place where the world slows down a little. Our rustic alpine hut in Forstauwinkl, in the heart of the Salzburg region, is just such a place. Located just a few minutes' walk below the Vögeialm farm, nestled between lush meadows, shady forests, and clear mountain air, you will find peace, nature, and a genuine alpine hut atmosphere here.

🏔️ Simplicity that does you good

Our hut is open from the beginning of June to the end of September – perfect for anyone longing for a summer without hustle and bustle, without Wi-Fi, but with a lot of heart. Instead of flickering screens, here you'll find sparkling forest streams, birdsong, and sweeping views of the Radstädter Tauern mountains.
The “playgrounds”? They're outside: climbing over rocks, building dams, running barefoot through the grass – that's what freedom feels like.

🔥 Rustic & cozy

Inside, you'll find cozy simplicity with lots of wood and warmth:
Cooking is done traditionally on a wood-burning stove, and you sleep in lovingly furnished wooden rooms, just like in the old days.
Outside, a seating area, a wooden lounger, and a barbecue invite you to enjoy long, balmy evenings. A fountain trough with fresh spring water provides cooling, refreshment, and the wonderful feeling of a real alpine summer.

🛁 Hot tub under the stars

A special highlight awaits behind the hut: our hot tub. Nestled in nature, with comfortable loungers all around – perfect for unwinding after a hike and enjoying the sunset over the mountains.

🚶‍♀️ Hiking right from the hut door

The region around the Salzburger Sportwelt is a true paradise for hiking enthusiasts. Directly from the hut, you can reach the popular Oberhütte am See or set off on further tours in the idyllic Radstädter Tauern.
And for those who like it cozy: the nearby Vögeialm serves hearty alpine snacks with products from the region – rustic, honest, good.

No winter operations – and that's exactly why the period from June to September is so special here: clear nights, fresh mountain air, genuine silence. For everyone who wants to feel nature and find themselves.
