Haus Saling is situated at around 1,100 metres above sea level in Mariapfarr in Salzburger Lungau, one of the most beautiful holiday regions in the Salzburger Land. The quiet location, surrounded by meadows and mountains, offers the best conditions for a relaxing holiday in nature. The cosy holiday home offers plenty of space for families and friends with 3 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a cosy living room, and a ski and bicycle storage room. The special highlight: as our guest, you enjoy the peace and quiet of a holiday home while experiencing farm life on our 4-flower organic farm Tonimörtl with all its offers and leisure activities.
🐄 Experience the Farm
On our organic farm, you can experience daily farming life up close. Over 50 cattle, horses, ponies, chickens, dwarf rabbits, cats, and our child-friendly Bernese Mountain Dog Bruno are part of our farm life. While the dairy cows graze around the farm in summer, the young cattle spend the summer months on the alpine pasture. The cows are milked twice a day – we deliver the fresh organic milk directly to your holiday home doorstep every day.
There is plenty for children and adults to discover on the farm. First riding attempts on the ponies, joint grooming and feeding, a guided ride, stroking the rabbits and cats, or a walk with farm dog Bruno ensure unforgettable holiday moments. Anyone who wishes can help with the hay harvest and gain exciting insights into the daily work on the farm.
A special excursion destination is our Tonimörtlhütte at Lake Wirpitschsee. From June to September, Kathrin treats you to homemade Lungau specialities such as Kasnockensuppe (cheese gnocchi soup), Brettljause (cold cuts platter), Bauernkrapfen (farmers' doughnuts), Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancakes), or Topfenstrudel (curd cheese strudel) after a leisurely family hike – prepared with our own farm-grown ingredients. The crystal-clear Lake Wirpitschsee is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Salzburger Lungau and makes the excursion an unforgettable nature experience.

Farm products and catering
We are delighted to treat you to our farm's own produce. Look forward to fresh organic milk, butter, cheese, organic Lungau "Eachtlinge" (potatoes), honey, and fresh eggs. Depending on the season, you can also enjoy herbs and salad from our garden. This is how a farm holiday in the Salzburger Lungau tastes particularly authentic.
Animals
Right next to Haus Saling lies our family-run organic farm Tonimörtl. Here, you can get up close and personal with our animals and experience everyday farm life in the Salzburger Lungau. Our farm is home to over 50 cattle with dairy cows and calves, as well as horses, Icelandic horses, ponies, chickens, pygmy rabbits, cats, and our child-friendly Bernese Mountain Dog Bruno. The animals love being petted, and both young and old are welcome to help with feeding, grooming, and caring for them.
In summer, first riding attempts and guided rides are possible.
While the dairy cows graze around the farm, the young cattle spend the summer months on the alpine pasture. This is how you experience real farming and unforgettable encounters with our animals – a special experience for the whole family.

Coming by car via the A10 (Salzburg): Take the A10 Tauernautobahn towards Villach, leave the highway at the St. Michael im Lungau junction towards Tamsweg - St. Michael, follow the road towards Mauterndorf - Mariapfarr. At the Mariapfarr - Tamsweg intersection, turn left towards Mariapfarr, follow the road and then turn left onto Bruckdorf Street. After about 500 m you have reached the Tonimörtlhof. Coming by car via the B99 (Salzburg): Leave the A10 at the Altenmarkt junction and drive towards Radstadt - Obertauern along the B99. After you have passed Obertauern, follow the road towards Mariapfarr. At the Mariapfarr - Tamsweg intersection, turn left towards Mariapfarr. Then follow the road and then turn left into Bruckdorf Street. After about 500 m you have reached the Tonimörtlhof. Coming by car via the S36 (Styria): Take the S36 Murtaler Schnellstraße towards Scheifling, Murau, follow the road towards Murau - Tamsweg, after Tamsweg stick to Mariapfarr. At the intersection Mariapfarr - Mauterndorf, turn right towards Mariapfarr, follow the road and then turn left onto Bruckdorf Street. After about 500 m you have reached the Tonimörtlhof. Arrival by plane: Arrival by plane to Salzburg Airport. Onward travel possible by bus, train or taxi. Flight schedules and bus/train schedules can be found at Salzburg Airport or ÖBB. Airport transfer from Salzburg: Taxi Bacher, St. Michael +43 (0) 6477 8111 Taxi Lankmayer, Mariapfarr +43 (0) 6473 8246 Taxi Lehenauer, St. Michael +43 (0) 6477 8311 Arrival by train: Train travelers go to Salzburg main station, Bischofshofen station (06462 2515-0) or Radstadt station (06458 8115-281).
