The ‘Haus Elfriede’ is located near the listed village centre of Schwarzenberg. The spacious wooden house with the typical Bregenzerwald shingles is situated in a very sunny location. Wood also plays a major role in the holiday flat. Everything is made to measure by Bregenzerwald craftsmen. The environmentally friendly wood heating warms the house and we use the heat from the solar system for hot water. The flat is allergy-friendly and furnished to a high standard and invites you to simply enjoy the best time of the year!

About Us
Haus Elfriede is situated in the landmarked village centre of Schwarzenberg. The spacious wooden building with its typical “Bregenzerwälder” (Bregenz Forest) shingles stands in a very sunny location. Wood also plays a significant role in the holiday apartment. Everything is custom-made by craftsmen from the Bregenz Forest.
While this was important to us, it was mainly about tradition. And sustainability, which is also very important for us, as demonstrated by our eco-friendly wood heating system and hot water produced by our solar energy system.
We built our home in 2001. Since 2013, we have rented out our approx. 55m² holiday apartment – with plenty of room for up to 6 people, making it ideal for family holidays. The balcony offers an impressive panoramic view of the valley and the mountains.
But it is not just the furnishings that make our home so special. Time and time again our guests confirm that life amongst the stylish comfort and genuine warmth is simply good. Our guests are supposed to feel at ease.
You can hike through the winter splendour on snow-covered paths. Here, in this untouched landscape you can experience the peace and power of nature with particular intensity. Whether as a tour hiker, snowshoe or winter hiker, in Schwarzenberg and at Bödele, you will find many beautiful routes, such as in the Fohramoos. This nature reserve thrills even cross-country skiers with a unique trail that leads past spruce forests and bog land over the upland moor.
You can go skiing just a 5-minute drive away in our family-friendly natural snow Bödele ski resort. It’s just 10 minutes to the largest ski resort in the Bregenz Forest: Mellau-Damüls. You can even leave your car where it is and simply take the bus to your chosen ski resort. The bus stop is just 3 minutes away by foot.

Farm products and catering
We are very centrally located: in just a 3-minute walk, you will reach our bakers for fresh bread rolls, as well as a delicatessen where you can buy many farm products from our region.
If you feel like fresh milk, we can get this for you from our neighbours!
Feel free to help yourselves in our herb garden!
The fruits from our fruit trees are processed into a range of fine brandies by Martin – tastings on request!
Animals
Visit our horses in the stable or in the meadow. You may also stroke and sit on them!
If possible, your host Martin will also take you on a free carriage ride with them!
Dokus the horse is also used ecologically to fetch firewood from our forest. Therefore, Dokus enjoys a relaxing holiday on the mountain in summer (July, August).

In the holiday apartment, there is a large eat-in kitchen with a perfectly equipped kitchen unit, as well as a cosy relaxing chair and large flat-screen television.
2 separate bedrooms are available: one features a double bed with plenty of room for a cot. In the other bedroom, there are 2 bunk beds. Of course, there is also a bathroom with a large shower and toilet. Bed linen and towels are provided.

Arrival
Coming from the motorway (A14), take the Dornbirn Nord exit and follow the L200 in the direction of Bregenzerwald. At the crossroads in Egg-Zentrum, turn right towards Schwarzenberg. Follow this road to the centre of Schwarzenberg (right next to the church). From there, turn left towards Bezau. After approx. 150 metres there is a striking ‘iron woman with a name sign: Haus Elfriede’ on the right-hand side of the road - and you have reached your holiday destination!
