About Us

The Almhaus was built with great attention to detail – you will feel right at home here! Its location offers a panoramic view, making you feel like a king or queen on a throne. There are many hiking opportunities in the Noric region on the historical grounds of iron mining, or you can simply take a stroll to linger at the pilgrimage church in Maria Waitschach. A starting point for many cultural excursions. You can pick up fresh cow's milk from the nearby farmer.
Simply enjoy: the peace – the spaciousness of the cabin – the cozy warmth of the tiled stoves

Access: 7 km from Hüttenberg towards the pilgrimage site of Maria Waitschach, asphalt and a very good gravel road. Access directly to the cabin.

Arrival

As is usually the case, there are two routes;

via Hüttenberg, turn towards Maria Waitschach in the area of the cemetery. After a few hairpin bends, you will reach the village of Waitschach; pass the church and go through the village, then follow the forest road for 3.5 km to a large clearing, at the end of which is Haus Baierberg.

Starting point Guttaring: turn into the Urtlgraben at the bridge, after 5.8 km turn right towards Waitschach, then continue as described above - or continue into the Rateingraben for another 5.0 km, turn right towards Waitschach at the junction, and you will reach our house after approx. 3.0 km uphill.
