Immerse yourself in untouched nature – our organic mountain farm Hasentrattner is nestled in the heart of the Nockberge mountains. Surrounded by a breathtaking natural backdrop of majestic mountains, lush green meadows, dense forests, and crystal-clear alpine air, we are the highest farm in the charming mountain farming village of Kaning and directly border the UNESCO Nockberge Biosphere Park. Here, far away from the hustle and bustle and disturbing street noise, your well-deserved relaxation and deep deceleration begin with your very first breath.

As a holiday guest once aptly put it, with us you enjoy "a view like from an airplane". And they were right: the almost unbelievable panorama, which extends all the way to Slovenia and Italy, invites you to marvel, dream, and linger, making you forget everyday life instantly.

We have consciously chosen not to have televisions! For us, a holiday means spending quality time with the family, engaging in lively conversation, playing games together, laughing from the heart, and completely escaping the digital daily routine – back to basics.

Our farm is also the ideal starting point for unforgettable discovery tours to the most beautiful Carinthian excursion destinations.

Large and small animals live on our farm – from gentle cattle and curious goats to lively pigs, busy chickens, sweet ponies, and our loyal farm dog. We milk our cows and goats several times a day, and from their fresh organic milk, we lovingly produce delicious products that you can enjoy directly at your breakfast. Twice a week, the scent of fresh farm bread wafts from our bakery. Whether milking or baking bread – our small and big guests are warmly invited to experience authentic farm life up close and lend a hand themselves.

On our organic mountain farm, we carefully transform the fresh milk of our cows and goats into a diverse selection of delicious dairy products: creamy yogurt, delicate curd cheese, aromatic cream cheese, fine soft cheese, flavorful semi-hard cheese, and distinctive mountain cheese. The exceptional quality and incomparable taste of our products are a direct result of the high welfare standards for our animals, who enjoy fresh mountain air every day and feed exclusively on lush grass and the finest mountain meadow hay. In addition to these specialties from our own dairy, we also offer fresh eggs from our happy Sundheimer chickens, hearty homemade sausage and bacon specialties, as well as oven-fresh, home-baked farmhouse bread. A true delight straight from the farm, tasting just like a holiday should.

On our organic mountain farm, we offer you a unique opportunity to experience the fascinating world of rare livestock breeds up close. We are proud to actively commit ourselves to the preservation of animals that are threatened with extinction away from industrial agriculture. Here, you will find a home for majestic Hinterwälder cattle, the lovable Swabian-Hall pigs, and the proud Sundheimer chickens, which enrich our breakfast table with their fresh eggs. Our traditional Saanen goats, valued milk producers since the 18th century, are also an integral part of our farm community. A special highlight for our young and old guests alike are our friendly ponies Balu, Mimi, Cadi, and Harri, as well as our loyal farm dogs Lilly and Artus, who look forward to every cuddle and joint exploration tour. Here, your children can playfully learn about nature and the respectful treatment of animals. We warmly invite you to learn more about these special animals and to discover the importance of biodiversity in our nature. We are happy to share our knowledge about sustainable agriculture and the role we play in protecting these valuable breeds and the diverse plants on our farm. Situated at 1,300 m above sea level in the heart of the Nockberge Mountains, our farm offers an idyllic and quiet location far from everyday stress. For your arrival, you will find plenty of free parking directly at the farm, as well as a secure shelter for bicycles.

The location of the farm, surrounded by green hills and rural nature, promises pure relaxation. The nearest bus station is only 2 km away, and the town center of Radenthein can be reached after about 8 km. If you arrive by train, the nearest train station is approx. 35 km away; we are happy to offer a transfer from the station upon request. A taxi service is also available for you to explore the surrounding area comfortably. The exact coordinates (46.82875431248N, 13.709481579587E) make planning your route to us easy.
