The city farm Gut Unterleithen is located on the Heuberg in the heart of Salzburg, surrounded by forests, meadows, and nature. This means proximity to the city with a fantastic view of Salzburg. Nestled in the surrounding mountain region with a great panorama, surrounded by Salzburg's city mountains (Mönchsberg, Kühberg, Kapuzinerberg, Gaisberg).
The location of Gut Unterleithen is amidst grassland, where you can let your soul dangle away from the stressful everyday life and enjoy the simple things in life.
The actively managed farm with sheep, chickens, rabbits, cats, and bees provides insight into rural life and farm-produced products. Honey and sheep milk products can be purchased directly from the farm, and the eggs from our chickens can be taken directly from the chicken coop. The barn door is gladly open for you.
Those who value nature and relaxation from everyday life, yet want to discover Salzburg and the surrounding region with extensive leisure activities during the day, are in the right place with us.
Summer Activities
In summer, you can visit the lakes and mountains of the surrounding area during the day. Lake Fuschl is a 25-minute drive away, and the Salzburg Lake District and Lake Wolfgang are also in the vicinity. In the evening, we recommend the atmosphere of the old town. Stroll through the Getreidegasse and watch the bustling activity of the festival season over a drink. A real insider tip is the Almkanal, which is very popular with locals. It provides cooling and a real summer feeling in the city.
Winter Activities
In winter, the Christmas markets and the decorated city during the pre-Christmas period are a highlight. Ice skating, bowling, climbing hall, or cinema are perfect as all-weather programs. Visit the various museums, such as the "House of Nature" or the "Museum of Modern Art." A classic in Salzburg is also a visit to the Hohensalzburg Fortress. Or you can walk around the Leopoldskron pond and enjoy the view of the fortress and the Gaisberg from there. Sleds, bobsleds, or sliding discs can be borrowed from us upon request.
We look forward to your visit!
