About Us
Our chalet is a lovingly cared for former farmhouse situated at 1,200 m above sea level in the beautiful hiking area of Gaal im Mur. The untouched nature surrounding the cabin and the lush pastures with our grazing cows offer a "genuine chalet feeling".
A hearty meal from the gourmet region, the rustic wood furniture in the garden, a magnificent mountain panorama, the radiant alpine sun - can simply make you relax and recharge your batteries!
Explore the natural woods with your children. Go looking for mushrooms or take extended hikes with the whole family. There is also a diverse range of recreational activities for you to do!
LOCATION AND FACILITIES: The fully equipped cabin is the ideal starting point for relaxing walks or hikes on marked trails. The cabin is accessible by car. The nearest guest-house (with provided breakfast) is 5 minutes away. The sports centre (swimming pond, "Alpine sauna") is 10 minutes away.
The cabin provides space for a total of 10 people . The top floor is a separate, smaller residential unit for small families or couples (see "FACILITIES"). Outside is furnished with comfortable wooden picnic table to sunbathe on while the kids run wild on the green meadow, in the forest or on thesand heap.
Some specialities are the original "minibar" and the well-preserved former SMOKE HOUSE
OUR TIP: Upon request, in the cabin we can provide you with a snack basket filled with farm products. . Of course your pets are welcome! Reduced entrance to the Fohnsdorf thermal spa!

We manage our land in the traditional way with forestry management and suckler cow husbandry.
In the forest we pay special attention to sustainable, conservation-oriented management. So the smaller trees are looked after in the farm's nursery before being exposed to the forest.
Our pastures are conserved and cultivated by the grazing of our cattle. The cattle of the Simmental and Charolais breeds are evidently content in the summer, out on the pasture grazing on the best grass and precious alpine herbs. Thus, we can also guarantee our guest's animals the best quality of life.

From Graz: Take the A9 to St. Michael - get on the S36 going towards Klagenfurt - exit at Knittelfeld West- turn right towards Gaal – turn left at the next big crossing, in the direction of Gaal - drive on for 25 km towards Bischoffeld – continue through Ingering II and Gaal (church) – a further 5 km ahead you'll find the "Grassler" farm (first farm on the left - see picture) – here you can collect the key for the cabin - it's another 5 km to the mountain pasture
From Vienna: Take the S6 , in the direction of Bruck/Mur via Semmering and to St. Michael - for further directions see above
