About Us

At Gidnhof, the emphasis is on hospitality.

Location: Altitude: 1,214 m above sea level.

Our large farm garden offers the ideal setting for undisturbed relaxation and sunbathing. Our objective is your physical, mental and emotional well-being. This is facilitated by our extensive know-how of bach flower remedies.

Our farm is close to all important facilities and amenities: ski lift, cross-country ski runs, landscaped ponds and children's playground are all within easy reach. Our motto "A holiday among friends" is our guideline for ensuring a relaxing holiday for you in this beautiful mountain setting.

Cow's milk, goat's milk, goat's cheese

Animals

We are a part-time farm and breed Tyrolean Gray cattle. The milk from our 6 milk cows is delivered to the dairy.

Our cattle spend the summers on the Alpine pastures, at a height of 2,000m.

A family of donkey has also taken up residence on our farm since 2014.

Arrival

Directions (description)

By car - take the Brenner motorway A13 to the Schönberg exit (2.50 € toll fee) and then continue towards Brenner. The Brenner highway will take you to Steinach via Matrei. Turn right to Trins im Gschnitztal roughly 500 m after entering Steinach. Our farm is directly below the parish hall, opposite the fire station. 

You can also exit the motorway later on, at the Matrei exit (8.00 € toll fee).

By train - take the train to the Steinach station in Tyrol. From there, it's a 15 minute bus or taxi ride to the farm. We are also available to pick you up by request.
