About Us

Our traditional Vorsäß at Geißkopf is situated at around 1,000 meters above sea level in the municipality of Schwarzenberg in the Bregenzerwald region – offering magnificent panoramic views over the valley and surrounded by unspoiled nature.

Numerous hiking and biking trails start right at the doorstep and lead off in every direction. The nearby Fohramoos nature reserve delights visitors with its impressive diversity of flora and fauna.

At the end of 2019, the Vorsäß was completely renovated with authentic Bregenzerwald craftsmanship and great attention to detail. The rooms are furnished to a high standard and provide exceptional comfort. Historic charm and modern architecture blend harmoniously to create a cozy home away from home – perfect for relaxing holidays with family or friends.

With approximately 260 m² of living space spread over three levels, the house offers a fully equipped kitchen and living area with a Swedish stove, canapé, and spacious cooking area; three bedrooms with a double bed and sofa bed; one bedroom with a double bed; and one bedroom with a double bed and bunk bed. In total, there are four bathrooms with WC and shower. Additional amenities include a washing machine and dryer, Wi-Fi, a common room on the ground floor, another common room in the attic with four sofa beds, as well as a traditional storage shed (Schopf).

Farm Products

Honey is produced with passion in our own apiary.
Our bee colonies diligently collect nectar and honeydew and produce the best blossom and forest honey.
You are welcome to taste and purchase this honey from us.

Animals

Our mountain pasture is managed by our farmer according to the three-stage farming system.
During the grazing season in May and September, his cows graze the Geißkopf pasture. During this time, you can experience the cows up close. The barn in the rear building fills up with cows and newborn calves in September.

Our bee colonies produce the highest quality blossom and forest honey.

Arrival

Our Vorsäß is easily accessible via Bödelestraße and you can reach the popular Bödele skiing and hiking area. In summer, a road leads directly to our hut, where you can comfortably park four cars.

During the winter months our Vorsäß is not accessible by car. You can park your car in a public car park which is free of charge - for four cars. While we transport your luggage to the hut by snowmobile, you already have the opportunity to enjoy the winter landscape on a leisurely 15 minute walk. The hut can be reached on skis from the ski area.
