About Us

Furtlhof is located in the Salzburger Land region, specifically in the Salzburger Seenland area, in the village of Straßwalchen. The region is known for its many beautiful lakes such as Irrsee, Wallersee, and Mattsee, and is particularly popular in summer. The location is quiet amidst nature, yet central. Places like Neumarkt am Wallersee and the city of Salzburg can be reached quickly.

🏡 History of the Farmhouse
Our farmhouse has a long history. The farm was built back in 1615 and lovingly renovated in 2025. In doing so, we have preserved its historical, original character and combined it with modern comfort. Old materials and the special charm have been lovingly showcased.

🐑 Farm Experience & Enjoyment
At the farm, you can enjoy the tranquility and experience rural life. Our Valais Blacknose sheep are part of the farm and welcome visitors. Around the house, there's plenty of space for playing and relaxing. You can simply unwind in the hammock. In the garden, you'll find herbs and seasonal vegetables. You can also try jams made from our own fruits and herbal salt.

🛏️ Living in the Holiday Home
You'll be staying in an entire holiday home with plenty of space. It features 4 bedrooms, a cozy farm parlor with a tiled stove, and a fully equipped kitchen. Additionally, you'll have 3 bathrooms and separate WCs at your disposal. From the loggia, you have a beautiful view of the church. The terrace with a garden, grill, and fire pit invites you to linger. A special highlight is the private bathing area at Irrsee with a bathhouse and rowing boat.

🌞 Summer Activities
In summer, there's much to experience. Swimming at your private bathing spot on Irrsee, cycling in Salzburger Seenland, and hiking in nature are particularly popular. The region is ideal for extended bike tours with many well-developed paths. A trip to Mondsee invites you to stroll along the promenade and relax. The nearby FANTASIANA adventure park also provides fun for the whole family. A special excursion destination is Gut Aiderbichl with its many animals. The outdoor swimming pool is just a few minutes' walk away, and Salzburg city is also easily accessible by bus.

❄️ Winter Activities
In winter, you can visit diverse ski resorts nearby. Postalm, the Hochficht ski area (Upper Austria), and Flachau in Snow Space Salzburg offer many opportunities for skiing and snowboarding. Winter hikes in the snow-covered landscape are also particularly beautiful. During the Christmas season, Christmas markets in the region and in Salzburg invite you to browse. You can also visit museums in Salzburg or enjoy leisurely shopping in the city.

✨ Your Holiday at Furtlhof
Furtlhof is ideal for families and groups. Here you'll find peace and quiet, while also having many possibilities in the surrounding area.

I look forward to welcoming you, Marianne.

Farm products and catering

At our farm, you can enjoy fresh and regional products directly from nature. Our garden grows aromatic herbs and seasonal vegetables, which you can discover depending on the time of year. From the fruits of our orchard, we lovingly prepare jams. We also offer homemade herb salt – perfect as a small souvenir of your holiday in Salzburger Land.

Animals

Valais Blacknose sheep live on the farm. They naturally tend to the meadows, effectively replacing the lawnmower. At the same time, they provide valuable fertilizer for our garden and are an important part of farm life.

Salzburg and Surroundings

Fancy a city trip to Salzburg combined with a stay in the countryside surrounded by nature? The villages of Wals, Anthering and Großgmain in the surroundings of Salzburg are the ideal choice. There’s no better place to combine culture, activities and family holidays. Would you like to follow in Mozart’s footsteps as you walk through the city centre? Try “Salzburger Nockerl”, an airy vanilla soufflé, in the “Stiftskeller St. Peter”, a restaurant within the walls of St Peter’s Abbey. Make it to the top of the legendary mountain Untersberg, on foot or by cable car? Would you like to travel back in time and see how life in the countryside was like in the old days? Visit the open-air museum in Großgmain. You’re sure to collect unforgettable memories during your holiday here!
